This from Entrepreneur mag.

Google is building a domain registration service aimed at helping small businesses develop or imprve their web presence. Google Domains is still in a beta invite-only phase, but once it officially launches, businesses will be able to find and buy the domain they desire including ones with popular suffixes like ".com," ".org" and new ones that will become available in the near future.

Does anyone have an invite? I read somewhere that domain reg was $12...surely not?

I have read the posts and I gather everyone thinks GoD or namecheap are the ones to transfer domains to. I think even $9 each is expensive. The industry seems a rip off. I agree with many of the posters concerning practices of CEO of Go D. So can't go there.

Dude, if you think 75 cents a month is expensive for a domain, then you are in the wrong business.

They'll close the service in 2 years and you'll be moving back to whomever you were with before.

How many paid services have you seen being closed by Google?

Anyways, Has anyone received invitation from them yet?

I entered my email on the first day and yet to hear from them. The pros are free privacy, branded emails (this is a v quick way to get up-and-running), you get Google's DNS servers (this is BIG, otherwise you need to use a paid service like DNS Made Easy)

The Google is a big company. Google's rate should be more less than godaddy. I hope google will take a necessary steps to reduce its price.

      Not necessarily,
the more richer one is, the more greedy he is.
