Standard Wordpress banner sizes? What are they?

What are the standard banner sizes for Wordpress themes?

If you were to create two or three banners for a theme, what sizes would you choose?

125x125
250x250
300x300
468x60

Those are the 4 most common sizes for wordpress.
125x125 is generally in the side bar
300x300 is a side bar
250x250 is generally in the post toward the top
468x60 fits across the bottom or across the top of a post.

You will mainly see 125x125 and 468x60 as those are the most common these days but like cashtactics said, there are 4 that are commonly used. I personally think the 300x300 are somewhat clustery looking if that is even a word...

Yes I agree with CT and Ja. I create many banners each week for Wordpress users and generally they are 125x125 and 468x60. Depending on the layout you have setup (standard or custom) you may find that you need a different size to make things look in proportion.

I've noticed a lot of 125x125 used as ad banners in the side bar, but weren't sure about the other sizes.

No problem! The 125x125 is just about the right size, they are big enough to be visible and eye catching but not so big that they are distracting. I sometimes find the 468x60 to be annoying, especially if they are animated, if they are right amidst the text...

The 125x125 is just about the right size, they are big enough to be visible and eye catching but not so big that they are distracting. I sometimes find the 468x60 to be annoying, especially if they are animated, if they are right amidst the text...
