Hosting company reduced speed to 2-5kb since they know I want to move

Does it happen more often that a hosting company intentionally reduce speed to about 2-5kb so it's practically impossible for the new hosting company to migrate the websites?

Ofcourse they do this intentionally. Their technical staff give friendly response bu in the meantime are the cause why it is impossible to move my sites.

I asked many times to speed up but they prentend as if nothing is wrong with answers like... 1. check again. 2. we made some changes, check again. 3 We will forward your issue to our senior etc etc

Message from my new Hosting:
"The progress of your transfer is at 85%. Your host has slowed the speeds down to 2-5kb/sec. It's going to be a while, but it's running. They're apparently really trying to throttle outgoing network transfers."

Problem is there is nothing I can do, can I?

    Never heard of a hosting company doing this before. I think you should name and shame them, thats just ridiculous what they are doing.

    Companies do it all the time. We frequently see this happen when we're doing migrations as well. Nothing new. It's most like automated, not manual...

    I asked them to backup my sites so I can download it. But it would take at least 2-3 days. They are intentionally limiting the speed. And every time they say they will look into this matter. At least 6 different network specialist at SkyNetHosting.net checked my site in the meantime. And nobody resolves this problem at SkyNetHosting.net. Only answers as... we made some changes try again etc
    I am glad that I don't make money yet from this site. Just started. If I were a full time internet marketer I would be ruined by now.

    There are a lot of problems can arise when anyone invests in a hosting company with no record of excellent customer service.

      Hello service,
      I plan to stop all my hosting at skynethosting. I have just too many technical problems here and it take a bit too long before it is resolved. I have websites that I can make money on.

      I am not seeing issue with sites hosted in your vps now. There was only a blank page issue after migration to vps and its already sorted and we will make sure there are no issue with accounts in your vps. There was a migration in between vip server which caused few problem.
      If you still want to cancel your vps, please let us know.

      I need a root password reset and I also can you also allow IP address: xxxxxxx (my new hosting provider)
      Can you also increase the speed at which the VPS is performing. Its extremely slow.

      I am busy for days now to compress some websites and download them as backup
      But even login takes almost 30sec and when I compress a website or download a zip backup it takes ages. I also tried another computer but same results. Even my reseller account is much faster.
      Please check speed of vps hosting.

      unfortunately everything still very slow here.
      I also get while login in the message "login successful redirecting" and then it takes about 20sec. Also when logout it takes a while. I have enclosed a screenshot.
      This whole account is very slow whatever I do on the server. compressing, downloading etc.
      Hope you can find this problem.

      Ok technical support,
      Since I have VPS I cannot use it at all. I have no plans of paying for a service that I cannot use properly. This speed is absurd and I have a hard time believing that it is just a technical issue. I more thinking that this is happening intentionally. Show that you are a professional hosting company
      Last time I ask .. are you going to speed up or not? I expect normal speed today.

      New hosting replied: The download keeps timing out at 300-500MB


      As you can see. They make it impossible to move. Did not copy all messages, This is to give you an impression of what to expect from skynethosting if you want to move to another hosting if you are not happy. Maybe they are afraid that I will ask for a 30days money back guarantee lol

      For the rest I have no more to say. Just want to share this with you in case you have plans to host with them. Only thing that is professional about SkyNetHosting is their website. And their staff keep answering friendly. But to be honest, I have a hard time staying friendly this way.

    Lol, that is shady of them, sounds like some 99 cent/year ebay hosting reseller

    I hope you get it resolved, I know it can be frustrating
