what's it called?

As usual I know what I want and don't know what it's called or where to find it!

I'm creating a site where members can have their own editable page/blog within my blog.
Obviously I don't want each member to be able to edit anything other than their own area.

They need to be able to edit text and add images etc.

Just lately I've seen emails coming thru about having your own social media site and the software to do it - not sure if this is what I need either!

Seen any software that'll help me?
