Do you set a "Download attempt limit"?

I'm just curious as to how many of you set a "download attempt limit" or a time limit on how long the download link for your product is active.

If so, what's a good rule of thumb, or something I should be careful with.

I'm just setting up a product with DLGuard and was curious

Thanks in advance,
Steve

    Hi Steve,

I use RAP for my products. This lets you set the time limit to whatever you want.

48 hours seems to be the industry standard timeframe among RAPpers.

    Cheers mate

    Steve,

For my RAP clients, I usually set things at 72-96 hours. Got this from weekend sales, like on a Friday, where people wouldn't download until Monday. I would have thought they would download right away, but people are funny.

    Thanks,

    John

I have a custom script with a 7 day time limit for download. However I set limits on things like the number of downloads(is it suspiciously high?) and the geographical location of those downloads(different countries?). Based on those variables it disables the download when shady stuff is going on.
