Best Free Email Service ... and why?

Hi Warriors,

What's in your opinion the best free email service ... and why?

I got this question from one of my subscribers and I feel like a
donkey's ass because I don't know the answer.

Maybe someone else finds this thread very usefull as well.

(Please do not comment if you only used a single free service - Thanks!)

Free ones suck - if you mean autoresponders for email
    marketing.

Getresponse has a free version with ads in every email
you send out. At least GR has excellent deliverability.

Free ARs suck because shady people use them and abuse them -
which gets the whole system banned by major IPs.

Don't use free version, my advice. Your email always will be delivered in spam box. Use getresponse instead. Yes, you need to pay some money to use. But it is worth it..

I've always been partial to Yahoo because it was my very first eMail and having tried several others, then used it for eBay and PayPal... among several other applications. I liked it so much, I now use the Pay Service Yahoo offers. I trust their mail system and never had a crash. 99%+ of all SPAM goes to the SPAM folder and I can still review them there if I wish. I can also remove good eMails that arrived in the SPAM folder and move them to the Inbox.

I choose Yahoo because of it's reliability to send and receive eMails.

I've used a variety (hotmail, gmail, yahoo, hotpop, mail.com and a bunch of others including some pretty obscure ones).

      My observations :

      1) Gmail is the one I use most often; large capacity, pop access, decent spam filtering and whitelisting capabilities. Also has ability to forward messages, and filter them by condition. Another nice touch is the ability to create disposable email ids based off the original, using +

The two features that Gmail doesn't have (and which I find irritating) are

Ability to sort into folders (while labels are a possible alternative, I'm more used to folders) and
Ability to sort by sender (and don't talk to me about conversations being an alternative).

      2) Yahoo is my second choice; and now that they've quietly restored pop access, is moving back up my preference list, may upset gmail. I like Yahoo's disposable email option better than gmail.

      3) Hotpop seems to be having trouble these days, reliability is an issue. Earlier, this was one of my choices for alternate email accounts especially for list signups...

      4) Hotmail remains only for having the MSN messenger id; otherwise, the email is no great shakes, I'm glad I moved most of my accounts off.

Other email providers aren't particularly noteworthy.

Funny I wrote a post on your original question, after posting it I scrolled down here seeing what you really meant.

Anyways I believe gmail is much better. Although I don't have one myself just yet but I hear it's very efficient.
I heard somewhere that you can load up as many external email address to it so everything that is sent to your other email addresses will automatically be sent to your gmail account.

I'm a big fan of GMX.com - their web interface is similar to the likes of Outlook and the way all of your email accounts (pop3 or the likes of Gmail) can be integrated is outstanding.

Really no competition - Gmail all the way man. It's the best of every world... The only downside Gmail has is to people who are uncomfortable with the way Google archives and analyzes every possible piece of information they can get out of your account down to the last email. That a valid concern for sure, but I don't mind it because 1) It's something that is automated and mechanical - no actual people are reading your email ever and 2) I'm not doing anything I want to hide (not to say anyone else who doesn't is trying to hide anything of course).

I agree that the lack of sorting can be a pain sometimes, but the Search is meant to replace that. If you can get used to looking up stuff by searching instead of sorting then you're golden.

I also have a fastmail.fm account which is very reliable, but I only use it for emergencies o for when I need an alternate for whatever reason.

Have you heard of Traffic Wave?
They have a 30 day free trial where you can use everything in there. That includes autoresponders the lot.
However you wouldn't get paid unless you became a paid member youself, but you don't have to worry about that because within the 30 day free trial you're most likely to get leads into your primary business, hence making you money for the monthly subscription of Traffic Wave to make more money.

I would recommend it. Give it a shot.
