Adsense, what I am missing?.

So... Here I am
I am member of WarriorForum for long time, but I never wrote, I always read.
I am a senior Linux Sys Admin and I worked too as a Drupal/PHP Developer as a Freelance for some clients.
So my background is 100% technical.
I can setup a server, create VPS from dedicated servers, create hostings, setup wordpress or drupal really fast and optimized, setup scripts as piwik, I created my own youtube channel clone script, my own Adsense-ID crawler, etc etc... BUT!... I never managed to understand how SEO works or Clickbank+Facebook or... I don't have marketing skills but I want to learn.
I want and I tried few time in the past, but I never managed to have any success... so here I am trying again as now I have some free time everyday (2-3 hours).
I just found a niche for adsense (high competence in keyword planner, good amount of visits and not a lot of competence in first positions of google). It is a small niche, so I can't create a lot of posts about it:
Questions:
1- I create a video and a very good (1000 words, good information and well redacted) post in a website I already have (3 years old) but with very low traffic at the moment (less than 20 uniques/day). Then I ping it and I create some PR-backlinks and promote it in FB, Twitter, etc...
2- I bought a domain and create a website with only 5-6 pages with video, and 5 posts with 400-500 words?. PR-Backlinks to the new domain and FB/G+ and Twitter accounts.
3- I forget about starting with adsense and I go directly to CPA, PPC, etc ... With facebook, bing ads, clickbank, offervault, etc...?
I just want to learn how online marketing works and try to have a pasive income (I dont want a lot... if I get 10$/day it will be a great win for me... because that means that I understand at least the basic of this world).
So, which option do you think I have to choose for this new try?. Any recomendation?
