How many words should an article be when you submit it to the article directories?

Thanks,

Jon

Generally, most article directories will accept 400 words or more, although this varies from article directory to article directory. Some require more as their minimum requirement. I tend to go for 500+ just to be on the safe side, plus it allows you to include lots of long tail keywords.

300 - 500 words is often the recommended length for most articles. However, keep in mind your target audience and what you are trying to accomplish with your article. You might lose your reader long before they get to your bio box if your article is too long. And, as Tel mentioned, different article directories may have different minimum and maximum required and/or allowed lengths.

Just like the skirt, not too long to make it sexy and not to short to make it pointless.

If you can make a point in 250-300 words - do it. Because with shorter articles, more people will read them. And more people will see your resource box.

But make it as long as it needs to be (400-500) if you can't make it good in 250-300 words.
