I am just thinking about to add live chat on our online shopping website, is that really work. If yes then please tell me how and also suggest me a good live chat solution for my website.

    They can ask a few simple questions and then order.

    Yes i would definatly suggest a live chat solution on your website. It's an easy way to presell your product and get more customers.

    It actually does more than just helping you seal the deal. Lots of people buy products without actually knowing what it is. This is especially true for software or services. Having a live chat enables them to double check with your agents. You could be avoiding potential headaches with refunds and disgruntled clients.

  • I agree that having a live chat option on your website can be good for business, however it does require someone to be available to chat with customers.

    In my experience, I find that most times, especially with smaller online vendors, instead of reaching someone to chat, I usually face a "Chat Offline" message. Followed by: "We are not available to chat, please leave your name and email." This could potentially backfire.

    I have also seen Chatboxes that require you to enter an email address first before you can even press the chat button. This for me is also a turn off.

    Depending on what type of products you sell on your shopping site, a live chat option could be ideal. Not only will this be a good way to sell one item, but possibly upsell more than they had intended. So let's say you have a shopping website for shoes and the person only wants one specific item. Once they have located that item you might be able to recommend related items they had not considered otherwise. So not only would you have made one sale, but two.

      As a customer, I prefer live chat over having
      to call on the phone, especially if the chat
      platform will provide me an email transcript
      of the conversation.

      p.s., live chat can bite you in the butt if you
      don't answer promptly and interact with
      customers and prospects in a way that helps them.

    With the live chat, you can talk to your customers directly as they are trying to make a buying decision and help coach them in the right direction. You can easily answer any objections or questions that might otherwise go unanswered which could lead to a no-sale situation.

    Just be sure if you implement the live chat option, that you put your button for chat in a noticeable place on your site and always have someone available to answer the chat questions as they come up. Otherwise, what's the purpose of live chat, if no one is online during prime shopping hours?

    In THEORY it should work but you need to also be AVAILABLE to
    answer questions and so you have to determine if you want to monitor your
    website all day. As mentioned above a lot of smaller companies have
    the chat but no one to monitor prospects.
