Publishing a Book, need suggestions

Folks:

I have a history of about 500-600 pieces that I have written over the last six years, and I am about to publish those into a Daily Devotional type of book.

I have a "council" of six independent folks who will each assign a vote to each piece. Most of my pieces are very small, so it won't take long. Each one will grade 1-5, with 5 being the highest, and the 365 top scoring pieces will go in. I will not have a say - I want it to be this "council."

With that being said, each person is in a different location physically. What is the easiest way to grant them all access to each file so that they can score?

Each piece is a different file with the summary/date for the title.

I am looking for ease.

Thanks,

Jeremy

It would probably help if you were a little more specific in the features you need. Or perhaps it's past my bedtime and I need to go to sleep. Are you just saying that everyone needs to download the file? Or does everyone need to download ONE file and keep that same ONE file updated with their scores?

I guess either way you should look into project management solution like TeamWorkPM or Basecamp.

  • Probably the fastest and easiest way would be to throw up your own private forum and have them login. Here are some suggestions for free forum software phpBB.com, mybb.com, vanillaforums.org. If your not good at setting this up your self try a cloud hosted phpfox or vbulletin site...these will already be setup and you are ready to go.

    They're in Dropbox already.

I guess........each person could open each one, put their name on it and their score..............

The Dropbox idea is good. Here's another one...

Add them to a private blog, password protected, one item per post. Install one of those star rating plugins.

Your council can simply go from post to post, clicking the number of stars they think each post deserves, and the plugin keeps score for you.

Suggest you invest in a cloud either Microsoft, amazon, get the WD cloud, or any good ones you trust and give access to your team so everything is done securely and everyone would have access to the same file or with the WD cloud you control it yourself allowing access to your panel.

Dropbox and constant communication through skype or email would be helpful
