Selling Amazon Products

Hello,

I am an amazon affiliate and I run a blog for dog products but I was wondering if the layout of my blog should be more like an online store instead of a blog layout? Does it make a difference?

It depends on what you're trying to accomplish. If you are blogging about various things for dogs, and about dogs, it may be best to put the focus on the content and keep the Amazon ads on the side bars and between posts.

If you are just looking to sell products and are not focusing on content, trying a store layout may work.

You can also create your own website with multiple pages and try a combination of both types of layouts.

Im in the same boat, after considreable research, i decided to build a website with the main pages are general info about the nich and then publish blog article reviewing the items you want to sell one by one.

Would love some feedback from experienced people about this method

    Hi Anna,

It can make a difference. One of the "key concepts" of affiliate marketing is that what makes the sales is the strength of the trust-based relationship that's been built between the marketer and the subscriber/visitor.

The more like an online store your site is, the less chance you have to achieve that.

In so far as anyone can comment without seeing your site, it certainly isn't easy to imagine that you're going to make more money by having your site look more like an online store.

I think this thread might help you a lot: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6608638

Again, it's hard to say without seeing, but it sounds in principle a far better idea than an "online store".

The obvious answer to me is a blog. You will link to Amazon instead of selling your own inventory. People will know you are not a shop because of your links, what you are telling them, and what you need to display in accordance with Amazon's rule, etc.. Making your blog look like a shop likely to be the fastest way to tell them what you say probably not the truth.

The concept of Eco-Friendly Dog Products is a good one but....

Your blog needs a total revamp.

I would try to expand on the articles I'd say they need to be at least 500 words long ideally 700+

I would look for a nice mobile responsive theme for your blog and add a header image.

I would certainly agree with the previous posters keep away from an e-commerce type design.

I would also add a free report/book to download as a optin to start building a list.

More videos, images added to your posts, outbound links to relevant authority sites in your niche.

That should be enough to be going on with for now I reckon!

      Great post, here ^^^.

I totally agree with Stevie. This is exactly what you need: (i) total revamp; (ii) much longer/better articles (and maybe publish them elsewhere too, to attract targeted traffic?); (iii) different theme; (iv) stay away from e-commerce/store-design; (v) build relationships by email with subscribers (there's no money, worth talking about, without that one!).

Again, this thread's going to help a lot, if your aim is to earn Amazon affiliate commissions from your blog: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6608638
