Best ways to advertise online? Small starting business in need of help!

Hello,
We make handmade items and were just starting to get our feet off the ground until facebook changed the algorithms. Now in desperate need of online advertising advice.

Previously we had been concentrating purely using facebook to drive traffic/sales (mainly via our page) but since they have been whittling down the organic reach we can no longer rely simply on facebook traffic. That was a huge blow/lesson (all our eggs in one basket), we now realize we should have made an email list! Most our sales were made over facebook so we are now concentrating on making sales 50/50 over facebook and the new website.

Now wondering in what are the key ways in driving up traffic to our website/page to generate sales?

We have just joined all the social networks such as Tumblr, Instagram, Pinterest etc and plan to post there but what else should we do?

    Hey,

    So far, it sounds like you are on the right track. After all, you can't only rely on Facebook, and have to branch out in social media if you want to take your business to the next level.

    I would say go to KnowEm and see all of the image social media sites available so that you can set up your accounts there. You just can't go wrong with social proof.

    Also, I have found that linking all of my social media accounts has been really helpful in the past.

    This point you made is very important. Yes make a list you can create a squeeze page and build your list. Then you will have a much bigger audience to target for sales.
