Default Tracking and managing ads across multiple sites? $10 beer

I am redoing a few sites have decided to track the ads for performance on them. I can do it manually by assigning each spot on the page as a unique ad.

e.g. Top right of page would be zone 1 and display "SITEAD1"

But that can get really tediouse.

It also doesn't allow me to split test different ads/spots and change them on the fly w/out editing the html on the site.

So I am looking for a way to:

1. Track conversions for each ad (position/zone, ad, etc.)
2. Split test different ads for specific zones
3. Change the ads for a specific zone/site w/out editing the site
4. Remote manage everything from one admin

If you know of a simple way to do this, let me know and if I like your solution I'll PayPal $10 to you. Not much but you will get more from Karma.

OpenX will do this although you will have to set up your site to work with the software first.

You predefine ad slots (position and size) in your site and register your site as a publisher in your OpenX implementation.

Then you create ad campaigns and allocate each banner ( can aalso be text / html) to an ad slot.

This works best across a network os sites as you can then change adverts on the fly, track performance, serve a number of banners etc.

Garrie,

I wrote the answer because I wanted to help rather than because you offered to pay, so there is no need to send me a PayPal payment.

Best of luck setting up OpenX.
