subdirectory of website is down

Hi, I'm experiencing a weird problem.

A subdirectory of my website is down every day for around 30 minutes. The root domain is always online.

www.mydomain.com is online and working
www.mydomain.com/directory is down.

I don't think it is a problem with the hosting company, because the root domain is always online. Do you have idea why this is happening?

thanks

What do you mean by "down" - what is in the directory? Do you see anything in the error log for the hosting account? Have you contacted your hosting provider to have them take a look?

I have installed wordpress in the subdirectory and by down I mean that the site is offline. The main root domain is online and working and I haven't contacted the hosting provider because I don't think it has something to do with them.

If the root of the domain works fine, then you need to have your web host look to see why the subdirectory isn't working. That's what you pay for hosting for....

Define what you mean by "down". Specifically, what error message are you getting? Chances are it's not "down", but something misconfigured and you're getting a 404 or something.
