Do any of you just go straight into internet marketing from the very beginning?

Hey all,
Just wondering, for most people here that are already making a full time living and work from home with their websites.

Have any of you, or are any of you now, getting into making money from your website as your first and only job for a career?. I know some people will automatically say "hell no!", but I know some people that do it any ways, so this questions is for them.

The big question is if people who are doing this, are actually living alone and in this situation do you just live by the apartment?, or would most of you only get into internet marketing if you either already had a good paying job, or if you were supported by someone else?.

I think that's not just a question that I am curious about, there must be others out there who've wondered the same thing.

I work full time and do IM part time. Eventually I do plan on doing this full time however. Once I am making enough of course. I would suggest having some other form of income if you are just starting out.

For most people starting IM as a first job or career is certainly be a very tough thing to do.

One of my friend's cousin had done it though, it wasn't like he started it as a career intentionally but as a passion. He had lots of passion and interest in mobile phones when he was 16 years old. He started blogging and later on scale it upto a discussion forum for mobile phone and its technical issues. He is now 21 years old but doing a damn good job and making tons of money.

My point is people who end up in IM as their first job might not be because they have chosen it as their first job but it is because of their passion has brought them into IM.

For me it was a gradual transition. I had a pretty hectic finance job while I was building my business for a while. Once I was convinced my business was scalable and I had enough income to pay bills, I moved into full time business.

Frankly, the sales letters which spout the "buy this and you can quit your job" nonsense anger me - absolute garbage, it's very rare to be able to go full time into an IM type business unless you have some experience, clients and reputation behind you.
