Getting on a right niche

Hello Warriors!

I have been designing and writing content for my very first website.
Having done pretty much everything basic, I am not sure which niche I should strive towards.
My website is going to host articles on the topics of fear/procrastination/inspiration and etc (nothing new). Something like addicted2succes dot com
I am also finishing writing my eBook "How to Tackle and Conquer your Fears".

For the ones interested, my website is: Thoughts & Quotes

I haven't started promoting it yet, so not many people have even seen it.

Any ideas where I should go with it?

I have done everything for the website but now stuck with what I should do further

Cheers!
#niche

How about starting with giving away a free report/video for people to opt in and then going into a niche such as wellness or motivational products?

I guess the obvious question is how are you going to make money from it? It is nice to have a pile of philosophical and travel related stories,,,meditation, inspiration - who are you talking to, what are you trying to accomplish with this-at the moment it is an exercise, you have a neat layout and the site looks nice, but it needs a focus, maybe set up a travel affiliate hotel booking widget? Pursue the travel theme as this seems to be your pleasure, lots of successful travel blogs that make a lot of money - I would go for something like that to give it a meaning and focus ...all the best with it!

That is my problem, I am not sure yet, kind of a dilemma here. I like travelling but also, I like the psychology + I am big on nutrition and wellness. As I said, I am finishing my book on overcoming fears in life, so, I am not sure which audience and path I should choose for my website

      Thanks for the feedback guys

        Congratulations on your new venture.
But the problem you have now comes from a classic mistake you made at the beginning. Don't feel bad because most people, new and old, make the same mistake.

They create a product or service and then try to find people to sell it to.

        Instead they should first ...
Step #1. Find specific people with a specific problem (your target market).

Step #2. See if they're "paying" to solve that problem in the form you're selling it in.

Step #3. And then create the product or service with those people in mind. While offering them something (a niche solution) that separates you from others.

But it's not too late. You just have to go back and do those 3 steps (that's the firm foundation, you forgot to build first) and then come back and execute your marketing plan. If you don't, get ready to be more confused, frustrated and aggravated.

        Hope this helps.

Have you thought of joining ACTIVE and RELEVANT FB groups? You may share your informative articles or giveaways in those groups. I learned about this from the content writing company that I've been using for years.

Not sure how you can have created content without deciding what "niche you should strive towards".

You need to know your niche first, understand your audience, and find out what problems they have BEFORE creating content.

      That advice is spot on.
      1. The People.
      2. The Problem.
      3. The Product.

In that order or you're taking a bigger risk than you need to take.

The scope my topics cover is pretty large. I give you general tips for a better and improved life style. If any of you is familiar with sites like Addicted2Success dot com or Pickthe brain dot com will get my point.

I am just not sure if I should get even more specific than that...
Should I keep writing about general tips or I need to get on a more specific path
      My topics are something like:
      - 4 steps to stop Procrastinating
      - Stop being Materialistic and follow your Passion
      - 16 quotes to help you overcome hardships

I think I could do it a website where people would come for daily tips to improve their living habits and get good advices in general.
Also, I am planning on starting to Vlog (answering questions from subscribers, something like Elliot Hulse)

For profit: eBooks, audiobooks, affiliate products, GoogleAdwords.

This is the age of specialties or target marketing. You'll be able to find your audience easier and they'll be able to find you.

Being general or approaching a general subject is a lot riskier. By trying to appeal to everyone ... you run the risk of appealing to no one.

Being specific is the way to go, especially when starting out.

          I see your point here...
The only problem with being specific is a risk to run out of thing to share or offer as value.
Being general means having more options in possession when it comes to writing and material in genera.

I was wondering If I could start out as general and then narrow my path to a few specific premises by publishing books and series of articles on those topics..

Actually, you should do just the opposite sir. Specialize and then expand out.
Think, Mc Donalds or most Fortune 1000 companies. At first all they sold was burgers and fries. But they slowly expanded to other items as they grew. Go forth and do the same.

Your niche is very social orientated, so its best to use social media to share your articles.

that's exactly what I am striving towards Great looking content and helpful info in it

Get specific and focus on a particular market. Why?

Most people seeking answers online or solutions to their problems do it by searching for very specific things. They buy products that solve specific problems.

For example, people don't search for "overcoming fears" . . . they search for "how to be more confident around women."

They don't search for "pain medicine" . . . they search for the "best solution for migraine headaches."

They don't search for "running shoes" . . . they search for "men's blue size 10 New Balance Trail running shoes."

Likewise, they don't search for "inspiration" . . . but rather "how to cope with the death of a spouse."

When you are looking for an answer to your problem, aren't you more likely to choose the very specific solution that addresses your exact need over a general "whitewash" of a greater field?

                I am.

Well first off I want to say that you have an awesome website that is pleasant to the eye. Which is also very good for your audience. All you need to do now is promote your site by means of Facebook.com You should even create a Facebook fanpage. Not only will you get vast amounts of traffic from Facebook but also will heighten the authority of your site and build backlinks at the same time. Youtube.com is also a great way to promote your site.

      I am.

      Steve
I am starting to understand why, thank you for great examples...but yet again, I feel it is going to be hard to dedicate an entire website on "how to cope with a death of spouse" or anything this specific.
Although, I believe it is a great advice for making up new topics. Because first of all, I am a writer/blogger who has decided to yield some benefits from my writing.

      Do you get my point?

I could see myself coming with a specific product, lets say an eBook "How to stop obsessing over your ex and start living!" but yet again, don't see myself doing it with my entire website and blog posts.

I guess I will have to make a decision, since I can't combine them both, huh?
