FTP transferring question...

hi all, my site url is gain-serious-mass.com/blog. However, I watched this tutorial on how to start up a wp blog and the guy said to create a folder to store all my uploads...called "blog". I would like to store all my info / uploads to the root of my domain, just .com. Not .com/blog/. Can someone please tell me how to take that folder called "blog" and put it under my root domain. What do I have to do? thanks.

OK, it is not your "uploads" that should be at the root directory but the WP installation. I want to clarify this because there IS a directory called "uploads" in WP (under wp-content/) so it is better to make clear what are we talking about.

Now, regarding the move. Follow these simple steps by letter and you will be OK:
    1. Go to your wp-admin > Settings > General and change the two URL values (Wp address + Blog address) to the root URL = without /blog
    2. Save it and you will get an error message - don't worry about it
    3. Do NOT try to see your blog in a browser!
    4. With your FTP program move all the files and folders from the "blog" directory to the root
    5. Now you blog should show up at your domain's URL.
