New Blog Post = New Page?

Do new blog post show up as a completely new page in the eyes of the search engines?

So when you do a yahoo site explorer search - will every blog post show up as a different page - thats the question.

Anyone know for sure?

      Depends how you have set up your blog.

      If you are using Wordpress each post will be a separate page.

      The post, or an excerpt of it, could also be added to the top of the index page, the category page, any tags pages and your archives pages.

      In Wordpress, by default a new blog post will normally result in a whole lot of virtual pages.

      One page is based upon the title of the post.

      For example, if the title of your post is "New Ways To Make Money" then you should see a page created with a path similar to this: http://www.yourblog.com/new-ways-to-make-money/

      The actually path may be slightly different depending upon how you configure your permalinks.

      In addition, you will normally also get a category page. So if you added your post to the "MoneyMaker" category then you'll get your post added to your http://www.yourblog.com/category/moneymaker/ page.

      And if you use tags then you will also get a tagged page. For example: http://www.yourblog.com/tag/onlinemoney/

      So you can really get a lot of mileage out of one post!
