How to increase sales of Braun cleaning solution refills?

My business with the most sales by very far now is a business where I make and sell refill solution to refill the Braun Clean & Renew cartridges for self cleaning shavers for a fraction of the cost of buying new cartridges.

I was wondering what would be good ways of increasing my sales. I'm often recommended to post about them on shaver forums, but virtually every forum forbids advertising so that's not something I can do. I've tried Google AdWords but the cost is virtually always higher than the sales it brings in causing me to lose money.

I'm not sure if I can mention my website so I won't.

    Perhaps find different sites, forums, groups, etc. where people discuss shaving, personal grooming, hygiene, etc. If you have your own site, continue adding content and learn about things like SEO and SMM.

    Thanks for the replies.

    My website has no content other than the online store, since I seem to be allowed to link to my website in my signature (link in sig is another website) I assume I can link to my website which is CCRRefills.com - Refill Your Braun Clean & Renew Cartridges and Save!

    Are you saying I should for example review Braun shavers and have a Braun shaver review section on the website? If so does that mean I need to go buy different Braun shavers just to review them?

    What other kind of content could I add?

    I'm not sure about your conversion rates or anything, but first suggestion is that I think you need to redesign your site.

    I agree with adding some content. Add more content/information about each product. Add more content about Braun. Add more content about your business. Add more content about why customers should order from you.

    I'd add a way to capture emails - then you can contact previous customers,or potential customers, and get additional sales.

    You could review razors if you want to.

    Can you sell on ebay or amazon? I don't know your profit margins.

    I also don't know if you carry stock. Could you (legally?) combine the refill packets with the rubbing alcohol instead of making the customer do it? That'll add value and you could probably charge more.

      My conversion rate on the website I posted is perhaps surprisingly normally between 2.5% and 4.5%. I know the website design is very plain but I was originally getting 99% of my sales through eBay, now about 40% of the sales are from the website, about 55% through eBay, and about 5% through Amazon.

      I do capture emails of all customers and there is a link to sign up to the mailing list without purchasing, but I just realized it would be better to have the email signup form directly on the main page.

      The reason I've designed my product so the alcohol is purchased separately is that not only would the weight of the alcohol cause the shipping to cost about as much as buying original cartridges, because it's flammable it needs to be sent as dangerous goods, further increasing shipping cost and limiting to ground shipping, considering most of my sales are out of country this simply isn't an option.

      One thing I was thinking of would be to find someone in the United States (I'm in Canada) that could resell these for me as I suspect they'd be able to ship them for a third of what it costs me which should increase US sales, is that a good idea and how would I go about finding someone that would do that? I might look into Amazon's fulfilled by Amazon which basically does exactly that.

    A few days ago I updated the website so users can write reviews on my products, is that what some of you meant by product reviews or did you mean I should review related products such as the shavers compatible with my cleaning solution? Will the review feature I added help with SEO? It will probably help with sales once people get to the website.

    Have you tried writing guest blog posts on related blogs? For instance, you could find blogs related to personal hygiene, beauty, skin care, etc and offer to write for those blogs in exchange for a backlink. The purpose of these articles is not SEO but real traffic from the people reading the articles. Your article should be in depth and informative and your signature line should offer the person reading a clear incentive for clicking through.
