Successful WSO's for non-IM Products?

Hi Everyone,

In a sense, it seems the WSO section is a self-feeding, cyclical phenomenon. Just skimming through, it would appear that there are a lot of re-re-recycled products being sold by warriors to other warriors. I don't understand that quite yet... comments?

Anyway, my real question for the senior members is: Have you seen any success from a WSO that is NOT IM related? Purely for example, has anyone posted a product like "Increase your gas mileage" or "How to choose a Lawyer" that someone actually bought? Or like I mentioned, are all products that sell in the money-making niche?

Thanks,
Bill

That would be like selling ice to eskimos. lol!

And yes, WSOs have that tainted reputation and you have to take their sales pages with a grain of salt or else.

Kidding aside, WSOs are IM related because people in this forum are internet marketers. And as a rule of thumb, you always want your offer to be in front of your intended audience.

Anyway, not all marketers here are in the IM niche. In fact, most of them are doing IM on other niches and are just here to get advise on how to better approach their marketing.

Besides, If I'm looking to increase my gas mileage, the warrior forum would be the least of my options.

    Just sayin... =)

      Bill,

Yes, there have been successful non-IM related WSOs. But as was mentioned above, this forum is mostly populated with IMers so it follows that IM products and services are being targeted to this audience.

The two examples you gave would probably not do well unless perhaps they were PLR or Resale Rights products that marketers could use to make money.

Remember, you want to be selling to a targeted audience. If you strip away the IM persuasion here you will be marketing to a very non-targeted crowd. How many of us are specifically looking for an "increase your gas mileage" product. I know I'm not the least bit interested.

The exception might be "small business" related products since most IMers are also solo business owners.

There are occasional successful WSOs that aren't MMO oriented. I had one a couple years ago though it wasn't completely unrelated to online marketing. I can say that when I wrote the guide I had no intention of putting it up here. It was a book on persuasion, more specifically, how not to get sucked into certain types of persuasive trickery. I had a partner in the WSO and she tweaked the copy ever so slightly so it appealed to marketers. It got WSOD in Sept, 2011.

The question has come up several times about personal development offers... are they something people here buy? The broad answer is no, they're not. I've been here for a few years and there was one that did well. It was a hypnosis program that promised "no effort" personality changes and great results.

So again, we had a vendor that adapted something to fit the market. No effort, done for you, autopilot, etc., that's all classic MMO stuff.

You've gotta remember, the bulk of the market here is primarily male, age 18 to 35. They want quick-hit money "systems" that require no work. It doesn't matter to them that such animals don't exist. It's hard to believe but many of the people shopping for money making programs here don't even realize that online marketing is a business. It might be a system, a program, a cash cow or any other silly acronym but they often don't see it as a business. They'll snatch up anything that promises easy money for little or no work. So it goes...

I have seen a lot of WSO's that are not I.M. related. The one that comes to mind right away deals with teaching you how to become a Kindle expert. You could write on any topic or niche that you want and then sell it on Kindle with the help from this WSO. Do a search if interested.

Its is not the right market for those kind of products ..
You are on an IM marketing forum ..

Not saying that you won't make a sale here and there but it's not something that I would do ..

When you create a product you are in essence giving the visitors what they are looking for and warriors are looking to make money online ...

This all-in-one marketing platform saves me over $7,000 per year. See how:

You do get them. Mindset/lifestyle WSOs spring to mind. There's an argument that some Kindle and Graphics Package WSO's could be construed as "non-IM" too.

Well yeah. All of the WSO's here are make money online WSO's because this is an internet marketing forum. And yes, some of the WSO's that sell on this forum are recycled to a degree. But you also have to remember. Not everyone gets the chance to check out one person's WSO. That's where the other guy or gal with the other WSO comes by to promote..

The only way i can see this work if you offer packages such as articles or ebooks which can be used by internet marketers in their business.

Otherwise there are beter places to sell these type of ebooks as you explain.

There's a ton of value in there if you know what to look for in an offer including getting some awesome deals on software, plugins, themes, etc... But it is self-feeding and cyclical to some extent because most people are here for a reason and it's not for things like learning how to change your own oil or natural ways to clear up a yeast infection. This forum is centered around how to make money (mostly online).

The one WSO outside the normal stuff reasonably associated with making money online and not PLR was a course someone was offering on real estate deals that didn't require using your own money. But again, that's still making money.

Anything outside that, you would have a tough time selling unless it was some sort of "hacks" book on how to do a bunch of different things to hack your life and business.

I can see something like that having a shot on here if it was positioned correctly and pushed by the right people.
