Hello, I have just set up my IPN to work with paypal and I have tested it in the "sandbox" and it seems OK But - I would still like to test it "for real" before driving traffic to my sales page. I don't think paypal will do a transaction that is me paying myself even if I do use different email addresses, if they are on the same account - I don't think it will process it. What do you guys usually do ? I suppose just get a friend to "buy" the product? |

Thaks for your reply Keven. My "normal" account is a Premier account i.e. it is not a business account. So do I have to open a business account or can I have a Premier account and a standard personal account Obviously it is easier to do the testing with my own account rather that asking a friend to "buy" something. |

To open that second account - do I have to use a different bank account and credit card ? And do I have to wait for that bank transaction to show on my statement ? |

As you mentioned in your posting one of the easiest and quickest ways to test your page is to get a friend to go through the sales journey for you - just set the price at $0.01 temporarily. Another advantage of this is that you get a new set of eyes going through the process and they might hit some issues that you would not see. What is obvious to you may not be to a new visitor and another valuable part of your testing. |

Hi Jekiko, If you have a problem with asking friends to test your system, the I understand - I don't talk to my mates about IM stuff, they would just take the p... out of me ! I would love to help you out. Problem is , I don't have a paypal account yet. Why not PM Kevin Riley, he seems like helpful dude and if you reduce the price to like 5c then he gets a product for virtually free as well. |

Hello , Thanks for your suggestions. I have opened a new paypal account using a different bank account. This will make things easier in the future. Only problem is that my new credit card will take a couple of weeks to come through, and that is what I will fund my payments with. So I have to wait. As suggested I also PM'ed Mr Riley - hope it's allowed to ask favors ? Anyway I promised him a beer ![]() So maybe sometime soon I can know if my pay buttons work ![]() Thanks again for your help. |
