Is it Google's Authority Site or Not?

Dear warriors,

Just a simple question from me, when we see Google's search result, specially first page, how can we know if some of those sites are authority site or not? On the other word, which one is the authority site and which one isn't?

Ezinearticles, yahoo answers, digg, about and youtube are. But others?

Is there any somekind of authority checker tool?

Thanks,

Rob

Google ranks authority in terms of page rank or PR as it's called around here.

You can check a sites PR with a number of different tools, but my favourite is SEO Quake. It's a free plugin for Firefox, and gives you lots of information about each website.

There are plenty of low PR sites on the first page of results, and for the purpose of marketing or traffic... PR is meaningless.

Want to know if Google thinks if the site is an "authority"?

Just note which ones constantly show in the first page of results.

I agree with you Eric. PR is meaningless. but, is there anyone in this forum knows how to check whether a site is an authority or not, instead of checking it by manually taking a note...

That would be equivalent to Google releasing their trade secrets.

And most on this forum would love to see that.

Other then that, it will take research.

          Good luck
