No, traffic will not guarantee income.

If you have not monetized your site properly you will not make money, atleast not much money.

But most of all it depends on the quality of the traffic you are getting to the site. If you only get low targeted crappy traffic, it will not matter how much traffic you get, you will not get any money.

However if you get quality highly targeted traffic you could be making money with only 100 visitors. It all depends on the quality of the traffic and how you have monetized your site.

A couple of metaphors and examples.

One, think of the Internet as a gigantic Mall. Some people are just window shopping, others have come to buy something specific, like new shoes for a wedding.

So, the shoe buyer, especially if in a hurry, would not spend time looking at cell phones, or TV's or get distracted by all the Shiny Objects in the jewelry store...but would make a bee line to the shoe stores, her favorite ones first.

If you are on the Internet looking for a book on salesmanship, you would probably stop at Amazon first thing, or certainly it would be a DESTINATION for you. You might use Google or Bing and do a search for books on salesmanship and then you probably go to the top listed sites. You would not, normally, go past page 3 or 4 of the searches unless you were just "window shopping".

So, the way to monetize your web site is to have it the shoe store in the mall, if you are selling shoes, see?

Targeted traffic are those people looking for what you are offering. There is generic or called organic traffic, which comes to you from the search engines and this is the part all of the SEO specialists try to game.

You can buy traffic from the search engines or from people with lists, lists of people shopping for shoes, for example. A list of people buying TV's wouldn't be much help, would it?

In the world of making money in IM, you need to have something to sell, someone to buy it and a way to take their money and deliver their product. Start with this very basic premise and then build your site as one of the Mall's most popular stores for what you are selling.

        Hope this helps a little.

All traffic is not created equal. Quality traffic is targeted traffic. Targeted traffic is who your audience is. When you get your offer in front of only the people who are looking to buy exactly what you have to offer, or who have already bought offers like yours, and no others, that is targeted traffic. You may have to do research on the demographics of your market and only send traffic to those people. Are they mostly males or females?; how old?; where do they live?; what are they interested in?; do they have credit cards?; etc, etc.. Once you nail down the demographics of your audience, you can then target your traffic to only reach those particular people since they will be the most likely to buy. If your website is about oranges and your traffic happens to reach a bunch of coconut lovers because you did not target your orange-loving audience, then you will not get any sales.

You monetize your site by placing ads on it that are related to the content of your website. Hopefully you are also building a subscriber list on your site where you can send related offers to people on your mailing list who are interested in your site's content.

No at all, the traffic will not increase earning. but it is also true the the traffic id the main way to increase your earning. so you should know which traffic do you need? I am giving an example, if you hire a freelancer form any freelancing market, he will be able to increase your traffic within a short time, but he will not be able to increase your sale. so you need to increase your targeted traffic.

As long as you aren't breaking rules, CPM ad networks mean "guaranteed income". It doesn't mean you will make a lot, and it will vary month to month depending on how much traffic you get and what the network is paying, but it usually means you'll get something

definitely not, you need targeted, preferably lazer targeted traffic to maximise the chances of being able to guarantee an income online.

you could get 50 million visitors to your website selling car parts yet not a single one of those knows how to drive a car ,don't own one and don't want to own one.

    you get the point

First depend what niche is your site about, content is the king also, and how you have monetized your site. You can sell your own service or promote affiliate offers.

Absolutely not! The quality and source of the traffic is far more important. For most general interest advertisers, traffic from countries with the highest average disposable incomes is most valuable. However, if this traffic is referred through some means such as interstitial ads, it is considered less valuable. There are lots of considerations when determining the value of one's Website traffic.

No.You have make sure your traffic is targeted buyer traffic, the offer that you are promoting is good that people will buy and the content you used to presell them is so good to drive them to buy,the source of the traffic is also important.

Not at all! You have to be educated on how to convert prospects into sales and, preferably, repeat customers. You want these people coming back for more, telling their friends and talking about whatever it is you are selling. I see hundreds of people every day, driving in my car, at the grocery store, in the gym, that doesn't mean they're just going to walk up and give me money.

Besides targeted traffic, there are a few other basic and essential ingredients that you must have in order to generate income.

The first is demand from the market. You see, the Internet landscape is littered with products and services that are not in demand. Many business owners, entrepreneurs, inventors, authors, and opportunists create their product, their "baby," the "can't miss next best thing since sliced bread" product only to find that it's not what the market is looking for. So the offer falls on deaf ears.

The second ingredient to online income is a willingness by the prospects in the market to actually pay for something they desire. You will see marketers talking about "money niches" because there are markets that are notorious for not having much money circulating within. It is always wise to research your market to be sure that the audience is willing to spend on the products and services they want. As an example, I've heard from people that have cooking and recipe sites that it's difficult to squeeze money from this market because cooking tips and recipes are so freely available all over the Internet.

Another ingredient to online income is backend or "after the sale" profit. Do you want to be selling a product that is purchased once in a lifetime? Or would it be better to sell something that is consumed or "used up" so that a subsequent purchase is also necessary? If you can "hook" a customer, make the initial sale, then keep that same customer coming back for more of the same product or similar or related products, the lifetime value of that customer can be tremendous. On the flip side, if you offer a product that never needs to be replaced or updated, chances are good that your business is built on the premise of one sale only, one and done, which is a difficult model to sustain.

So, no, traffic doesn't guarantee anything. But the right kind of traffic in a focused market selling exactly what the audience is asking for is a great way to build a profitable business.

      The best to you,

      Steve

    No.

If your website converts into sales at 0% then no amount of traffic in the world is going to change that.

No it doesn't. You need the right kind of traffic. You need TARGETED traffic. This is why people should build their sites around their traffic not the other way around.

Nope, traffic does not guarantee income.

A couple of factors must be considered such as...

Do you have a good product/offer
Are you attracting the right target market

If you do not have a product that people are interested in, you will not generate an income. On the other hand, let's say that you do have a good product but you are attracting the wrong market then you will not generate an income because those people aren't interested in what you have to offer.

Lots of great comments. I like to keep things simple, but not too simple where I don't earn a net benefit. Yes, you need "targeted" traffic. What does "targeted" mean? It means the traffic is targeted toward your primary "call to action" on the landing page.

If you don't have a single call to action for one primary goal on your landing page you'll never be able to determine how good your traffic is in the first place. So make sure you have very clear instructions on your landing page for what you want your visitor to do next.

If you've done that - and your traffic is targeted - you should reap enough of a result to do some A/B testing to maximize your traffic value and target even further.

    Hope that helps a little,
    Brian
