What exactly is pay per call?

Does anyone familiar with pay per call advertising? I am a little confused on how it works. Do I get a toll free number and get paid when someone calls it?

    I think so. Note- the caller is usually expected to spend a minimum amount of minutes before its termed a valid call. The best known is mundomedia

    Pay per call works on similar principle as Pay per click campaign.Adviser can place an advertisement ,a banner ad or a simple text ad ,with the campaign provider.
