Stuck in a semi-Adult niche

I'm in a semi adult themed niche. In short, my website has event information for adult parties on the west coast of the US. So adult themed in that sense, but not a porn tube site or anything like that.

I've had the site going since last September, but only started making money with the site in April. The money comes from ads delivered by BuySellAds, which is about ten dollars a month. Previously I had tried a variety of ads, such as outright porn ads, dating ads of different types, AFF, even adam eve sex toys and the fleshlight. Nothing was working. But even things like AFF have had a 2% CTR, just no signups that stick to earn me anything from the sales.

I'm poised to have my highest traffic month since the start of the site. For july I'm at 3.5k uniques and 5.3k pageviews. I feel limited in my choices due to my niche and am not sure if it's worth abandoning because nothing seems to work. But I feel like I have a decent amount of traffic to have it go to waste. I would appreciate any feedback, negative or not, to help me try and sort this out.

Your numbers are low from a traffic perspective especially in that genre.

Having said that, maybe consider charging a premium to the party hosts who are posting their ads with you? Offer premium placements, bold titles etc for a fee.

Never abandon a site that is growing unless you want to flip it and move on. But even then you won't get much $$ for the current earnings.

Sounds like you could grow this into a winner but it will take a lot of testing.

There are worse places to be stuck brother.

I concur with Brad Gosse; there's definite feasibility with this flow of adult traffic.

It's kind of like having a stream with some awesome trout in it. You might have a difficult time getting them to bite, but the potential is there.

My advice, is to continue rotating bait until you find something they bite onto.

Maybe try contacting a CPA manager and ask them what's hot with this type of traffic?

Just helping you brainstorm. Stay cool. Don't give up on it. :]

I'd put up a survey giving some of those 3.5K uniques an opportunity to tell you what they want or need. Maybe even offering them a free gift for there response.

That would be the best bulls eye solution you could get.

Everything else is just guessing and speculating.
