Need advice on Squidoo Lenses.

Hello Warriors!

I now have a good amount of articles on Ezine, and would like to start diversifying my traffic. Can I just copy my Ezine articles and paste them on my Squidoo lens without any modifications? Or should I rewrite them?

I've heard both sides of the coin, when it comes to how Google treats duplicate content. Some say that duplicate content gets indexed differently and doesn't do any good for traffic. And others say that it's just a myth.

Not trying to be lazy, honest! Just efficient.

Any thoughts from the more experienced article marketers out there?

you'll probably get 6 of one and half a dozen of the other in replies. It won't kill you to re-write your content slightly then you'll be on the safe side.

Yeah, just change the article 30% or so, and G will give you more love. It doesn't take long to do.

If you will simply copy all your content from ezine then they will obviously be the duplicate content, do make some changes because it wont give you much pain..

    try to avoid duplicate content.

My understanding is that if you have two pieces of content exactly the same, google will only show one anyway, so it would seem that changing it a little would be for the best

There are a couple of techniques you could use to help offset the duplicate content problem, but why would you? Ultimately you would want all submissions to get indexed, and just knowing that duplicate content could prevent that from happening, should be enough to prevent you from making potentially fruitless efforts.

SEO is work, and unfortunately even the "shortcuts" require some significant effort to achieve desirable results.

Thanks for the input from posters so far. The opinions are very one sided, so my choice is pretty clear. It's unbelievable how generous the people on this forum are when it comes to helping others.

Like I said, I'm not trying to be lazy. I know this stuff takes a lot of virtual blood, sweat, and tears to make it work. It's just that I don't like wasting time on things that won't make a difference. (Time > Money)

Anybody wanna play devil's advocate? If not, I'll get crackin' on those rewrites!
