Counting Clicks with Solo Ads

Do I need to get something like "My Click Boss" in order to track Solo Ads, to make sure I am getting the clicks, or can I just use a tracking website like trck.me?

Many solo ad providers will say that 3rd party stats aggressively filter data.

There's a million ways to slice the cake.

If you trust the vendor, just setup a unique opt-in form for each solo ad.

That way you'll know precisely how many opt-ins / clicks you get for each ad. (And if you're selling your own product, you can easily track back if you want to see which provider has buyers on their list).

If you don't trust the vendor (yikes), then you should rely on some type of tracking of your own.

Just my $.02, there's literally a million variables at play here.

PS: Want my real advice? Work on assembling a stable of reliable vendors you can trust. That way, tracking can theoretically become less of an issue. (Some gurus will argue, but just my $.02).

As Sarevok pointed out, just set up a unique opt-in page and your tracking will be done for you by your auto responder. Right now I am getting sign-ups from 5 different sources and it is very easy to see where they are coming from. Check with your auto responder. Good luck.

I dont care if your mama is providing the clicks, you ALWAYS want to track on your end.

If you're doing ANY kind of traffic generation, no matter what level you're at, you want to be tracking everything or at the least, as much as you can.

I can say from my experience that setting-up a unique opt-in doesn't help much.
There are no 100% solution to protecting clicks/hits from fake traffic and opt-ins generated by smart bots.

In my opinion, ClickBanking, Solo Ads, Solo Swaps - it's all kind of a shady business unless you know the person you are dealing with.

As Sarevok has mentioned in his reply, to get rid of this problem you have to work with reliable vendors you can trust.

I totally agree, that's the best option!

Yes tracking is essential when it comes to buying solo ads, but what's even more essential is tracking how many sales you get from that particular buyer.

Just make sure to buy small packages first, and keep track of all your data in an excel sheet. This way you can use that as reference for later, and nothing is more valuable than having you own data.

You should always track every solo ad buy. Use budurl.com or hypertracker.

Both are good and provide decent tracking.

Also be sure to always set up a new tracking link for each solo ad you purchase.

There are many shady providers out there so you should always track you clicks from solo ads. I see several resources have been mentioned that you can use to track this. You can also track it using Clickmeter

If you wanted to track clicks from each ad free you could set up a statcounter account (free), and create redirects with your own pages for each solo ad. This is a quick and dirty way of seeing exactly how many uniques you're getting with each solo blast.

I personally wouldn't go the free route. budurl is very inexpensive and tracks
both raw and unique clicks for you.

It's all about the unique clicks when it comes to solo ads. That's what you
want to base your conversions on.

just setup a unique opt-in form for each solo ad
This is super-easy to do with wordpress. Some landing page software have "clone page" options.

In WP just select the html option, copy the code, create a new page with a different URL and paste in your code.

I like tracking not only the link clicks, but I also will set up a unique landing page for each solo that adds to a DIFFERENT mailing list. That way I can go look at the opt-ins from the solo vendor (not just the clicks) and can easily go back and see which one gave me the highest optins (because the list name includes the name of the seller). Plus when I get sales I can typically see from which list it came too. It's the free way of tracking.

  • Lot's of cool tools out there and even more coming up for tracking this stuff.

But as a few smart people have already said, you must absolutely track everything!

The info and flexibility you get from a tracking tool is invaluable and when used correctly can help you optimize your buys and get to profitability so much faster.

even if you have an optin-form separate
you never know if it is real or bot traffic
I will suggest you to use google analytics because
and at 100% reliable, it tells you where it comes from traffic
    and retention time visitors
(so you can ipotizare if it is a bot from the time spent)
you can add analytics on your opt-in page like any web page and monitor it as such
in this case, since each visit will indicate a click come from
    Your vendor of ads
    very easy
    I hope was of help
