Maybe I missed it but one thing I didn't see mentioned.

It's not simply the article itself generating traffic.
By submitting the articles to as many directories as possible you build backlinks which improve page rank.
So, speaking to the longevity of an article... in that regard it's infinite.
To say nothing of the article being picked up by other sites and going viral.

I've got one site in particular that 5 or 6 articles submitted to the top 3 directories have generated over 300 backlinks, and a top 3 spot on Google for my main keyword.

Just food for thought.

This is a very inspirational thread! I've written close to 350 articles, but that was within a full year (January 2008 - January 2009)....basically averaging 1 article every day. Reading your story is making me want to start cranking out more and stop procrastinating!

I was unable to write that many. My article count stands at 200. I made $855.

I am happy about that, since it is double what I have made in any other month since I began IM back in February.

I must say, writing that many articles was exhausting! And it seems as if I need to be cranking them out everyday. Plus, this gives me little time to do anything else with IM (link building, social bookmarking, expanding on niches)

I really want to expand this business to be in the thousands per month. Any ideas?
Good luck and you seem to be on the right track.

You're welcome.

For prospects, this usually means offering something for free as an incentive to sign-up.

This is an example of such an offer: Private Label Rights And Master Resell Rights Products For Free! (not an affiliate link)

I am reading recently - and not just recently - success stories related to article marketing. So far I have been promoting my business using other tools, but I am thinking seriously about starting to use article marketing too, as they seem to be highly efficient. Beside article marketing is long term advertising, as your article is submitted, it stays there almost forever, so it is a potential continuous source of traffic to your site.

Any idea or tips from where to start the article marketing campaign???

Hi Gang,

Long time no see, hope everyone is doing fine.

Anyway, I just wanted to stop by and say how impressed
I was after reading these posts here in this thread. There's
easily an ebook's worth of information here, and top quality
info at that.

The one thing I've learned over the years in this Internet
marketing thing is just don't give up.

I remember talking with David Cavanagh one day and we were
talking about why I was having such a hard time really getting
rolling, really getting the steam up there. David's words where
something like: "You need to pick one thing to do, then do it
again and again until you become really good at it before you
jump to something else
".

You see, I've had a bad habit of trying something for a couple
of weeks, maybe a month, not getting much in results, then
jumping to something else. It took me years to really pick-up
what I was doing wrong, because that had been my lifestyle
since I was a kid. I needed instant results or I moved on.

So, from my own experience, my advice is to stick at it, test,
tweak, test some more until you start getting the result you
want.

If you made $855 in your first month of effort, than stick at it,
you're onto something, I did not make $855 in my first year,
and I'm a programmer, it should be simple to make that in a
week!

So, I think you're doing great, test, test some more, you'll get
there. And as I mentioned above, there is some info in this
thread that I haven't seen in ebooks for sale! That's why I love
the Warrior forums, every once in awhile, there's gold in these
here hills!

Cheers,
Patrick

My stats are not quite far off from you. I just submitted 4 articles in eza last month and it generated 431 views with 99 url clicks. Now I understand that volume is the key here. If I can only sustain article production just like what you did, I would have generated 21k views and 4950 clicks, of course that assumes i maintain the same average.

thanks for your share and congratulations.

I don't mean to sound ignorant i am just tring to learn.

Wow, The Bio is the mechanism that

1) gets the reader to your money site ( squeeze page, afiliate offer, blog etc

and

2) Gets you up to 2 valuable backlinks to the site you are trying to promote....and these are backlinks from an authority site.

Why are backlinks from an authority site ( like ezinearticles) so powerful?

because it a "trusted" site by Google, Yahoo and MSN

to put it into perspective

If you had a PR6 ( like a regular blog, website etc.) site pointing to your site and a link from an article you wrote at ezinearticles ( also has a PR6), the backlink from ezine articles would carry much more weight and power, even though its an the same PR6

The bio is the most important part of the article you submit!

I think you have made a great start. It shows dedication and commitment to write all those articles and clearly you have a product which meets your target market as the sales have started.

I bet many others who purchased the same product are still sitting procrastinating.

Well done, learn from any mistakes you've made, repeat your successes and you'll do well.

Article Marketing is a great way to go. You can write 1, 100, 1,000 or more articles and each one has the potential to bring you traffic, not only for the 1st month they are out there, but for 2 or more years. Also, each article that you write and submit is going to give you a backlink to your site, provided you put it in the resource box or anchor text.

I am still getting visitors from articles I wrote 2 years ago. Of course not as many as when I first submitted the articles, but every little bit adds up. I haven't promoted that one site anymore since then and I still get visits and even a sale now and then.

To your health,
Edward Moore

Are you just trying to increase your post count with this comment?

Before you give someone advice, maybe read the entire post. This has been mentioned many times and guess what he said long ago that he is now building a list. If you have something to contribute to the thread then please do, if not move along.

Congrats sree94 on writing 200 articles. That's not an easy task. I agree with a lot of the people that have replied here that you could potentially make even more money than you did from those 200 articles.

If your articles are pointing to a site between you and your affiliate link'd site (e.g. squidoo or hubpages) then you want to try and keep the concept of surfer momentum in mind.

Surfer momentum = Your article says some pretty good stuff that makes the visitor want to click on your link at the bottom (to your squidoo/hubpage). Once the visitor goes to your squidoo/hubpage they have even BETTER information from the info that was on the ezine article...and want to see more! They then click on your affiliate link (I recommend using the big arrow module built into squidoo to make this link stand out more).

This surfer momentum concept will help you generate a lot more sales. Hope that helps.

sorry for being a noob, but I have a question:

what are you doing with these articles? selling them? Posting them with ads on the page? Inserting affiliate links?

I'm not understanding what happens between "write 200 articles" and "make $800".

Thanks.

No, the articles link to my website which has a product offer

I launched the first website last February, but did not start making any money until I started writing a lot of articles

I know you said you didnt do the research first, but I certainly would have thought 200 would generate a lot more many then that.

Is it possible you can slightly reword some of your articles, make them better, have a stronger call to action or have products that monetize better appointed to each article. As it would seem a shame just to write 200 articles off as done and dusted.

How did I funnel people to my site? I basically talked about the problem that the person is facing (because I market to desperate customers) and then in the resource box, I push them to a site that sells them a solution

I was concentrating on four niches during that intense article marketing month. One of the niches has totally died, one has sold a few items, one has sold about 7 or 8 products a month, and one has given me a nice income each month. Now making about 2000 a month. Not enough to quit my job, but it certainly helps!

so they were basically like "there's a product, its awesome, info info info, check it out here *link to your website*"?

and every day you wrote multiple, unique articles about the same niche/product and posted them to ezarticles or stumbleupon or those type of sites?

I was concentrating on four niches during that intense article marketing month. One of the niches has totally died, one has sold a few items, one has sold about 7 or 8 products a month, and one has given me a nice income each month. Now making about 2000 a month. Not enough to quit my job, but it certainly helps!

When you say that you are making $2000 per month now, is that from the original 200 articles that you wrote, or from your ongoing efforts as well?

sree94,

Great job! In addition to the $855, 200 articles should be bringing in some residual income as well. Have you earned additional income since your original post?

Best of Luck!

Wow, that's not even worth it in my opinion. Not unless you need a guaranteed way to earn some quick cash. That's far too time consuming.

Hi, your articles will bring you consistent traffic over time, especially for those that stick in Google. I have over 1000 articles in my EzineArticles account and they have pulled in close to 2 million visitors and still bring in over 4000 per day to my sites.

What you wrote last month will continue to bring in traffic. So keep it up! But I can understand how tedious it is to do it yourself. In order to bring your business to a higher level, outsource the work!

Observe and track your articles and see which are the ones that bring in the most traffic. Study and learn what was done right and avoid the wrong. Then you have a set of guidelines ready to instruct those whom you outsource to write for you.

That's what I did and now, I don't write a single article these days, very seldom do I ever write one on my own now. Everything is more or less on autopilot after I outsourced the work.

So the key is to outsource. Other tips:

1. Instead of sending visitors directly to the sales page, send them to your squeeze page or review site. That way, you are building a list and building quality backlinks over time.

2. Cover even more niches.

That pretty much rounds up how you can get from your current income level to the thousands.

Pm me if you need help.

First off, do the keyword research.

Build a huge keyword list of your niche.

Get an SEO-Article writer. You can get them when you hit up Google with the following keywords "SEO Article Writer".

Get SEO articles written for all your Niche Keywords, on various topics that are useful for your targetted reader.

When you have done the above things then it means that you have started Dominating your niche by Article Marketing.

My Personal Opinion : Always write SEO-articles for Article Marketing.
But the keywords should take place naturally on the articles.

Cheers

Do you recommend linking articles back to your OWN page such as a review site (where you can also put an opt-in box to aquire name/email), or do you recommend linking straight to some product you are promoting?
