What's the difference between file manager and legacy file manager in hostgator's cpanel?

Also what is the difference between document root, web root, ftp and home directory in the legacy file manager?

Reason I ask this is because I uploaded my site after I added a new page and it shows in the home directory but not in the document root or web root. Also, If i look at y site in my browser I don't see the changes is it because my files are in the wrong place?

Thanks in advance for the help

The legacy file manager is the older version, I prefer the one labeled File Manager.

Your files need to go in either www or public_html (they are the same physical directory) to be visible on your site.

I use filezilla, it has always been easy to use.

I use XSP and am not having that problem? You might check with HostGator or double-check your XSP settings with another site, if you have more than one.
