$100 on SEO or Banner ad?

I've got a small budget for promotion of my site (which is new), I was wondering if it's better to spend $100 on a SEO expert to do some SEO on the site, or better to buy some banner advertising for 1 month for $100?

I don't know what kind of website you have, and whether it converts well etc., but I usually pick paid advertising with a banner.

That gets me immediate traffic, and lets me find out how my site performs very fast.

Of course, there are a lot of variables like how effective your banner is, if you have an opt-in page or a product for sale on your site etc - depends on the outcome you're looking for.

The website will just rely upon advertising to generate revenue, does that make any difference? it's not an affiliate site or anything.

Another option is to pay bloggers to write on your website. $100 can get you on some 2 blogs with averagely good traffic

What Niche is your website? We need further information to assist. SEO can take a while, But if done right, could bring thousands in the long run, as opposed to immediate traffic, that will obviously stop after your budget is up. $100 Is not alot, I mean, its one day on the Warriorforum, You may get a few hundred clicks...But what about tomorrow? What are you goals?

    Regards

Niche is financial. I just want to build it up over time, keep adding content etc. Maybe offer some tools etc at some point. So maybe SEO is the wiser choice because I won't have enough content at this early stage to take advantage of any traffic I get through an ad?

Based on your conditions, i would prefer for SEO..

This website can be your long-term business so driving traffic from search engine is the best options.. It may need a little time, but you will have more steady traffic rather than using it for banner ads..

Content is also important for SEO. Content is king of any site to be honest...
Are you trying to build a List, Get them to complete an offer, Or what? What is your Goal for the site.

No offers, well at this stage. The goal of the site is to be the go too place for the latest news, information/data in it's particular niche.

Then what you'll need is some Fresh, quality content, thats updated regular. SEO each page/post, and some quality backlinks etc and you'll be good. Id recommend running a facebook ad campaign, gaining low cost page likes, and funnel the social traffic to your site via page updates.

Thanks for the guidance. When you say SEO each page/post you mean just install something like Yoast and do what I can with that? or hire an expert for $100 to take care of the SEO for me?
