What is the worst thing a "IM' can do?

I realized on this amazing forum you can find almost anything and be told on tasks you should do to become a success. I been thinking about things you should not do. Things that would hurt you but at the same time help you grow. If we got these out of the way , could we shoot right up the ladder? I feel one of the worst thing you could do as a Internet Marketer is assume. Assumption I learned can hurt you. I would really appreciate more thoughts and insight on this matter.

It can break you... test the waters before you jump in head first. Do as much research as you can before you jump into a project. Also learn how to cut your losses, don't keep throwing money in a project or campaign that is failing miserably.

For beginners i think the worst and most costly thing you can do is jump between different strategies and not following through what you have started. You start following a strategy for a month or two and when no money has arrived you jump to the next. This will cost you thousands of dollars in the long run and you will probably not make any money at all. Then you will grow tired and think that internet marketing is not for you and quit...

Deceive your customers. It's a general heading for anything you do to lie, cheat, or not follow through with something you said you would do. Included in this category would be to under-perform, hype a product only to have it fall short, or to distribute garbage instead of high quality helpful products, information, and services that you claimed you have.

It's a business killer. It's a reputation buster. If you go this route, intentional or not, you won't last long in IM.

The worst thing you can do is assume it's going to be easy. It takes a lot of hard work to make it as an Internet Marketer and those looking for a quick buck will end up disappointed and jaded rather quickly. Another huge mistake is to come in with a gigantic budget and blow it all before you learn the ropes. Start small, test the waters and learn what works before investing large sums of money.

I think one problem is people wanting to be spoonfed solutions that will make them a lot of money. There's a lot of material out there, of course, that caters exactly to those people, but ultimately, you will have to experiment and find your own way if you truly want to learn your way around these things.

I click on a FREE e-book and they tell me it is not free any more. In fact, I can get it for the low low price.... 99 pennies now. After I buy it, it has no content - as in zero. However, there are many links pointing to a seven dollar report - yes seven. This week only there is a FREE bonus package that I never get, by the way. OK so I buy the $7 report and it also has no content, but it does have links to a $277 course.

Be thankful you don't get hooked into negative option marketing where if you don't cancel a subscription based payment you get charged anyway.

It's getting harder and harder to effectively execute this type of marketing but the zero content marketers, as you pointed out, can actually be weeded out pretty easily. People just stop buying their products because word spreads pretty quickly and/or their refund rates are through the roof.

Worst thing you can do is not take action. A ton of new marketers spend all their time reading the latest techniques and get paralyzed by the information overload. Take action and start building. Follow through with your projects ad success will eventually follow.

The worst thing is not to stick with a method and get result before jumping to another method. There are so many "gurus" out there that would want a newbie to try their methods and if care is not taken, one may continue to try and try new methods without making a headway.

As an affiliate marketer, the worst thing you can do is jump around from one product to another and try to promote them all. You need to do your research and find products that fit your niche well or that you can build content sites around and really go at your promotion efforts hard.
