Default Is This 'Wrong' - [Site Flipping Related]

If I have a site to sell, is it ok to list at 5 different places at the same time and of course sell whichever one sells first?

Or would prospects be skeptical about something like that...

Well if I was going to buy a site, I wouldn't care - but what about YOU

Would you care if the same site was listed at 5 different places?

I sell gift baskets of all kinds. We try to make our unique gift baskets and food gift baskets with lots of heart! Our specialty gift baskets such as the holiday gift baskets are awesome for gift giving!

As long as there are no rules against listing on other sites, at any of the sites you list at, no problem at all.

They have remove the old categorized method, I think they now auto categorize the site based on pricing...

I recently listed a site there and it shows on established and start up, not sure this is a good idea.

As a buyer, Yes, I'd mind it.

It's because if I've deep interest in the site, and my budget is not at the level BIN is set, I'd try my best to buy it. So, bidding and outbidding other bidders is the only option. When you don't know that there are other auctions as well, I may well lose the site.

If you're letting the bidders know about auctions elsewhere and keep them updated about the progress, then that's no problem to me at all.

Of course, take a look at the rules of where you hold your auctions. Some places do not allow simultaneous listings for the same site on different places.

Yes I agree with Swastik, you would need to keep each listing aware of the others. It could get quite difficult with prices varying from one auction to the other. If a buyer bids and wins the auction only to find that you have a higher bid on another site - what do you do then. I believe once an auction is won then you are in a legally binding contract, so you couldn't then decide not to sell the site because you got a higher bid elsewhere.

Nothing wrong with it, it's a matter of how the seller chooses to do things. Some may prefer listing on 3 sites, some prefer 1. I've seen listings that say site is also listed at whatever site, so people know that the site is also listed elsewhere. As long as the site it's listed on doesn't say you can't list elsewhere it's ok. It may (or may not) help the seller get a better price.

I agree with Swastik -- as a buyer, I'd want to know what other venues you're selling in. I wouldn't mind if you're selling in one or one hundred other places... I just want to know about them so that I can offer the top price if I'm really interested.

cheers,
Becky

If you are listing on auction sites this is wrong and usually not allowed. As soon as you get the first bid on one site you are in a legally binding position to sell (unless you have a reserve price that has not been met) so how could you morally remain
listed on other sites?

Ya can't sell anything without xposure - Unless the TOS limit to the initial sale-site.

Exactly - you are legally obliged to sell to a bidder unless you have not met reserve. You can't just pick and choose between which auction site gets you the highest price. Once you list on Ebay for example, and someone bids on your auction, you have a legally binding contract to sell to that bidder. Same rules apply with Sitepoint I believe. So no I really don't think you can list one website on multiple sites.
