Hi
To make the story short I found new hobby
I bought a fish tank few months ago (malawi tank btw)
I like the set up and found that I really enjoy it
so I thought I can join forum to see what others do.
I searched gooogle and found something when
I clicked on the link I end up on the page but with this message:

You have been permanently banned from this board.

Please contact the Board Administrator for more information.

Reason given for ban: Suspected Spammer - If this is incorrect and you are a
legitimate browser please contact blahblah at blahblah.com as soon as possible.

A ban has been issued on your IP address.

I am sure I have never visited this site before and this was my first time so
How can I be banned from the site I never visited before?

Did you contact blahblah at blahblah.com to find out why?

If you're on a shared IP of some type then it's possible that someone else using the same IP was up to no good. It's also possible that if you were using a popular backlinking strategy that they got your IP from someone else in a list of link spammers.

      Hi
yes I sent email to him but no reply yet (two days)
and I was thinking about shared IP and backlinks as well.
but it's "funny" then that even if you are "good"
someone somewhere see you as a "bad" guy.
      Thanks for reply
      Tom
PS just one thing about backlinking. If I do some backlinks everyday from diferent sites shouldn't I see more "banned from" sites?
I think it's shared IP issue.

I think Google just indexed a page with that message on it. It wasn't directed at you.

Don't worry about this. It's probably a poorly set up forum. I've had this done to me. Annoying as hell. But it's a sign that the admin can't run the forum properly.

    Move on.

Yes, I've experienced this kind of thing before. Although it's annoying it just has to be a matter of moving on to something else. I hate the way they can use IP adresses to check you out and you have no control and are innocent. It's like big brother.

    yes ...poorly managed forum.

a bot on your ip range posted some adds and instead of actually doing a smart ban he banned the IP range and left it to that.

The fact that he doesn;t even aswer you can mean 2 things...
he doesn't have time and therefor the forum sucks.

he doesn't care or is on a power trip and therefor the forum sucks....

Could your URL have got on a "spammer IP list" for something you were doing elsewhere, and then this guy got the list for his forum? Are there even lists like this floating around the net?

      Hi Steve
I know that you can find plenty other forums
The only reason I mentioned fish hobby is that I was simply searching
for something and had no IM intention.
Imagine somebody who is not in IM and just surffing the net and get this message as welcome lol
I just wonder how can site you never visited before banned you from it.
      Thanks All for you comments

Some places ban entire country IPs because of hack attempts. It's not poor management, it's called "protecting membership" from probable script kiddies & hack attempts.

      OK
With help from few warriors from various places in the world
I found out that they banned uk IP's
so it's not just my shared IP or my backlink footprint
      zaen_affiliate you were right.
Thanks All for comments and help
