I've always outsourced graphics, being challenged in that department. However, I'd like to have a go, but am not aware of any good tools to make a 3d product box, CD covers and the like. Can anybody suggest appropriate SW ? Thanks.

Two of the best ecover action scripts are: Black Belt Covers (Cheap and what I use on many of my sites) www.BlackBeltCovers.com CAP (Not Cheap, offers alternative ecover layouts that Black belt doesn't) www.CoverActionPro.com Hope that helps, P.S: New version of CAP is due for release sometime soon.. looks great. |

If you acquire Photoshop, here is a pdf that explains how to make ecovers/boxes. It will let you make them at any ppi and size you wish. You could build your own actions script. I think it will also work with GIMP (a free, open source graphics program.) http://www.ideapage.net/HowToMakeEcoversInPS.pdf |

Great simple guide for beginners Don, better than a lot of other tutorials I've seen on the web! If you're looking for a way of automating the process, try this ebook cover software.

Hmm - wish I'd been aware of the alternatives but I got Cover Action Pro and recommend it highly. Like Kate said, a new version is out imminently. - J

If you want to keep costs down try Gimp, it's free and almost as capable as Photoshop. You can get it from gimp.org. If you want to make curved ebook covers with it you can grab a free pdf from my sig. Stan |

Best? I have and use more than 5 if not more depending on the project and its requirements. Because my friend as in everything else there´s no one size fits all - no product that fills all the needs. If all you need is covers for websites and not for print here´s a proven and tested product which I use which includes a course teaching how to design yourself professional quality graphics (no other product I remember teaches that) and other cool bonuses |
