WordPress + Shopping Cart + Affiliate Program

Does anyone have any suggestions for best integrating WordPress with a shopping cart and an affiliate program?

This is for the sale of physical products and downloads with PayPal.

I've seen a couple WordPress shopping carts (wp e-commerce and market theme), but they seem to falter when it comes to adding an affiliate program with them.

Supposedly the makers of eshop and estore are both creating an affiliate component into their shopping carts. I for one can't wait until they do! lol

1shoppingcart can be integrated into WP, offers the ability to run an affiliate program and can handle both digital and physical goods.

You could also consider (as I am doing now) and switching over to Joomla with VirtueCart, and using a stand alone affiliate program (such as Jrox) to manage your own affiliate community.

I've created sites in the past using Joomla and VirtueCart. Very time consuming (my detailed install instructions ran several pages long - single spaced - describing all the settings that were needed) and I was quite unhappy over the continued maintenance because version upgrades kept breaking my sites with compatibility issues (maybe that is better now?).

I'm very impressed with what Wordpress is doing.

1shoppingcart is $1000 per year to get the affiliate module, and I'd rather have something I "own" where I am not forever dependent on having to use someone elses service - if that makes sense.

are you looking to run your own affiliate program or to promote affiliate products via a shopping cart?

If your looking to promote affiliate products via an affiliate shopping cart then, the wordpress shopping cart plugin by tribulant.com is the way to go.

    hope this helps

I'm actually right in the middle of this myself.

I'm selling via 1SC, which has a great affiliate program built in. So my list building, shopping cart, and affiliate stuff are all under one roof.

In addition, there's something that is changing the way I run my business- instead of selling downloaded products on my wordpress site, I'm selling access to password protected product pages.

With the Wishlist Member plugin, I can not only password protect unlimited pages into unlimited membership levels, I can integrate them with 1SC (or PayPal...)

Customers click the buy link, pay at my 1SC cart, are instantly sent to a "create login info" page, and are taken to the members page. Easy as pie.

And... it's very easy to then upsell them to the continuity model, where they can get access to ALL the protected pages for $xx per month...

I don't have anything to offer, but have a great day anyway!

    Hi Brian,

Nanacast.com can integrate access to a secure wordpress blog membership, with any pricing strategy you want, using paypal or Authorize.net and NMI gateway integrated merchant accounts, with on demand print cds, dvds, books, binders, print newsletters, and combo packages.

Nanacast also provides a robust affiliate tracking system that tracks by ip and cookie to ensure tracking even when cookie is not present and has smart anti affiliate theft tracking where last affiliate wins unless that affiliate is the same as the buyer trying to steal commissions then it looks back and rewards the last legitimate referring affiliate.

For on demand print we integrate with Kunaki, Vervante, and Disk.com

We can handle one off, free + shipping, bundled trial offers, one click upsells and downsells.

Nanacast provides a plugin for blogs but can also provide secure membership areas and deliver content immediately, dripped over time, broadcast in real time, and even personal broadcast as either membership pages, invidual secure podcast feeds, individual secure rss feeds, and even on demand print producgts.

We can deliver "micro continuity" and on going continuity subscriptions in any of those formats including physical and can even do on demand physical product broadcasts where you click a button and physical products go out (on demand print) to the doorsteps of your subscribers.

Its an all in one solution. No scripts to install no programmers to hire.

Josh, I read Brian's post above that indicates he does not want to pay an ongoing fee for his requested configuration. Does your in-depth pitch fit his exact requests?

If Brian did not appreciate me letting him know about a quality solution that might meet his specific needs he would let me know. We know each other from years of interaction publicly and privately on this forum.

But I am sure he appreciates you looking out for him :-)

          Josh:

Thanks for posting about your service.

For right now I am looking for more of a shopping cart, think bricks and clicks. Maybe I'm not seeing the service right, but all of your merchants seem just have one product for sale. Interestingly, I saw one with one product in nanacast and also using a Volusion shopping cart for their other products.

I did have a project idea a year ago that I abandoned because I could not find the right solution. Nanacast would solved the automation issues, so it is something I will keep in mind.

Yes for right now we do mostly linear one product at a time type but we also can do bundles and bundled trials.

Later this summer we start on the multi product check out type cart integration which we plan on calling "store fronts."

As for the third party cart integration you saw with one of our publishers...

We provide an API both inbound and outbound so that publishers can integrate our ecommerce and affiliate management platform with other systems to make anything possible.

    Josh,

I don't want to hijack the thread, but maybe this question may be relevant to others too.

I have a client who wants a solution that does everything you describe about your system, but also wants to sell certain non-info products as well (shirts, mugs, etc) without keeping any inventory.

Can your system tie into Cafepress or a similar service... or would we be able to hire a programmer to hook into their API for fulfillment?

Brian, I'm "very" curious as to what you find out so please report back here if you find any promising solutions.

The affiliate program addition is the missing link, in my opinion, to the "low-cost" highly deployable WordPress mini-site model using multi-site licenses.

If WishList didn't encrypt their files it would be possible to intigrate a 3rd party aff script. As it is now only 1SC and CB seem to be the most available options. They really need to intigrate an easier option for an aff tracking system.

Frank, at what point in the sign-up process of a new member would the affiliate tracking take place? Could you illustrate that for me please?
What I mean by that is: What landing page do you assign to sell your membership, and what would be the next step for the cookie to be planted in the user's browser, at the registration page which comes after the payment has been processed?

      Would DAP, DigitalAccessPass.com by
Ravi Jayagopal be a good alternative to Wishlist? He has an affiliate program incorporated, however I know you were referring to third party integration.

Anyone using DAP as opposed to Wishlist? Which is more user friendly, in particular in conjunction with Wordpress?

    Hi,

I have been playing around with the new plugins available for Delavo which now integrates with Wordpress and Wishlist.

As Delavo already has affiliate tracking built in (and is currently free through a promotion) I beleive with a couple of plugins you would be all set as it is hosted on your own server too.

Have you tried using amember? Great integration for wordpress shopping cart and membership modules. I have it on a couple sites and it has strong support after the sale.

I would choose Amember which is perfectly integrated into Wordpress and OSCommerce and has a built in affiliate program. You could also check DLGuard which doesn't have an affiliate program but can be integrated into Wordpress aswell and ha its own shopping cart
