Freelancer.com payment and fees

I recently was awarded my first project on freelancer for $500 and have now idea how it works.

1. I have a 100% Milestone thing so the employer has to pay all upfront to freelancer right?

2. I pay 10% or $50. Is this upfront or is this taken from the $500?

3. How long is the withdrawn process now?

Basically I dont want to get screwed by being awarded with many projects and paying hundreds in upfront fee and having to wait months

    Hi,

Congratulations! I am working at freelancer for some years now, and it's a great source of income

    1. No, the employer, will only release the payment when the work is completed, if you want to receive upfront, you need to split the milestones, for example, first milestone 50% , etc...

    2. They take upfront the fees

    3. it's usually very fast, it is process at Mondays/Tuesdays
