Let me get this straight.
You are sure your ebook will sell, but not sure enough to bet $50 on it? |

$40 seems ridiculous?
How much are you selling the ebook for? What's the niche? If it's an EXCELLENT product that people want then the $40 fee should be insignificant. You can try Paydotcom... Or just set up a website and use Paypal yourself. Any way you go you're going to have to spend some money to make any... Unless you happen to be a great copywriter, designer, marketer, SEO guru, etc. I highly doubt you're any of those things if you're afraid to spend $40. You have to get the book in front of as many eyes as possible... That's either going to require a ton of work on your part or risking some money. -Scott |

Remember what the $40 gets you ... as a minimum you get your ebook placed in front of Clickbanks vast army of Affiliates ... so if its as good as you say they should be selling it for you in no time.

well, if you don't want to put any money up front. Then use paypal. After you get to 50 bucks, I think it is worth going ahead and using clickbank though....
another thing you might try is e-junkie. It is 5 bucks a month, but well worth it. Don't choke your future growth by nickle and diming your business to death... |

I've heard horror stories about clickbank, but it is an easy way to get in. I put a book up on there and it remains today. I have made maybe 2-3K over the last 3 years on that ebook on clickbank. Not a ton, but worth 50 bucks.
In addition, I also see a number of inbound links from affiliates from the book. Interestingly sometimes I search for my book and see it show up in other lists of ebooks for sale, I am sure that they found the book on clickbank marketplace. Don't minmize the importance of the clickbank marketplace. Even when these folks don't buy, they are introduced to my website (my sales page is simply one page in my blog). I think ultimately you might want to move to using a shoppingcart and a merchant account. That is where my emphsis is now. My cart is 1shoppingcart, but you could use e-junkie for that. At any rate, to test out the feasibility of a ebook, clickbank seems to be a decent way to get started... |

The "where" doesn't matter near as much as the how...in other words choose Clickbank, Paypal, eJunkie, or whatever and just get marketing it...
The advantage of Clickbank is the affiliate base - if you have a topic that is attractive, at a price point that offers some decent commissions and your sales letter converts fairly well you will get much benefit from being in the Clickbank marketplace. Jeff |

The product and the offer are crucial... The presentation is crucial, but there are sales happening here, on this forum, every second of everyday. If I have a product, and I'm doing $500 a day in sales on this forum, do you think I'm going to go around bragging about it? Just because you don't "see" sales happening doesn't mean people aren't selling stuff. Just the fact that the WSO section has dozens of new ads posted everyday should tell you something. -Scott

I use PayPal out of choice because they accept payment from far more countries and the commission is 5% less. Also refund fraudsters can't get a refund. CB comes in to its own for a Marketplace listing to attract affiliates. As others have said though, if you begrudge investing $50 in the success of your product, your results will certainly reflect it.
