Too many banner ads affect to audiences?

Hello,

I'm having too many banner ads bought by my advertisers on my forum and now I must limit number of banner ads (stop expanding banner ads) on my forum sidebar. According to you, too many banner ads affect to audiences and visitors will leave site cause more banner ads?

    Hi Any,

    Most definitely. Most people respect the fact that you need those banners to keep the site up, but at the same time you can't make them too annoying for your memebers.

    You need to find a good combination between the two, why not send a survey to your members and ask them? I think that they're opinion is what REALLY matters at the end of the day, so just ask them :-)

      It's a good idea and I applied it to try to ask members' opinion and no more people feel annoy with banner ads on forum.

    Another issue is looking after your advertisers. The more banner ads you allow the less you can charge for each one because they are now competing to get those eyeballs. So the best thing you can do for your site users and advertisers is to keep the number of banners to a minimum. That way you won't annoy your users and your advertisers will want to continue to advertise with you,.

    putting excessive ads will distract user interaction and some users find it annoying.

    Too many banner ads will cause traffic leak to other websites. Think if there was a really appealing banner, wouldn't your visitors click on it. In addition, it will be a distraction for your visitors. There needs to be healthy balance between the banner and the content/action you need your visitors to take on your website.

    How many banner ads do you have on your forum currently? The point being is that it's your forum and if this is how you finance the forum staying open, then why should your members care? If you think it's an issue, then start a discussion where you tell everyone why you had to sell so many banner ads to fund the forum.

      It depends on each month, if my organic traffic increases then number of banners will increase because I will have more advertisers come forum and contrary.

    Not only are too many banners obnoxious and lower your visitors' experience with your site, but Google will actually rank you lower for having too many banners above the fold.

      It's right, for a new forum, it's not easy to have more members experienced like Warrior forum immediately, it needs time to improve and we are doing that.
      That's a good feedback and I will note this to improve forum better
