Why is Googles Search Better Than The Warrior Forum?

I've noticed this frustrating problem for awhile.

When I type in a search term to find a post or thread in the Warrior Forum search box, For example,

"Auto Responder Tips"

I'll get all kinds of post results, most having little or nothing to do with what I requested.

But when I type the search term this way into Google

"Auto Responder Tips, Warrior Forum"

I'll get exactly what I requested. It gives me links to all or most of the post in the Warrior Forum dealing with "Auto Responder Tips".

Anyone have an answer or solution? I'd rather just stay on the forum rather than stopping and going to the Big G all the time.

There is a reason Google is #1 in search. They have the history, know how, algorithms (that everyone complains about), budget, and incentive (advertiser dollars) to provide the most relevant SERPs possible.

Compare that with Freelancer's web site search "engine" - more appropriately - "function" and it's not hard at all to understand why Google gets the nod.

My experience has been that with the WF "search" function you need to be more precise (as in using the same terms that will be flagged in the threads and posts) in order to get the results you want.

Do not agree with you 100%, when I want to search my own WSO order without " warrior forum " at the end, Its working better for me...

Here's another search string that may even work better for indexed sites. I use it all the time for any site I want to search

site:warriorforum.com KEYWORDS

then from there in google's results you can select Search Tools and select the date range to filter it for recent posts containing your keywords

The better search operator would be

site:warriorforum.com "(WHATEVER YOU'RE SEARCHING)"

if you don't use this operator, you're more likely to get random results

Also FILTER your results in one string by using a NEGATIVE operator like -(KEYWORD)

You are comparing a rudimentary search function that is built into the forum that was not designed by a search engine expert to an advanced search engine that has a huge team of search engine engineers at the design wheel.

The search function here will never compare to a search engine.

Now the powers that be could add a google search feature here.

Well now the administrators have the key to improving the search "function" of the forum. Truly needed to make the forum even more resourceful and easier to access desired information.

I do think WFs search function needs to be looked at. Half the time the results shown are irrelevant and the other half the results you want doesn't show up. I noticed that even searching for your own posts can come up with the same kind of results, which is just wrong.
