When you have a regular paycheck for years, did you have trouble getting your head around being paid when your profits come in? Did you have an panic attacks or feel that you had to work extra hard to make sure that income doesn't stop?

I always make sure to have atleast 40-50 hours of work in a week.Like the ordinary job offline going to office everyday so that you can have your payment at the end of the month

When I first started, it was pretty scary not knowing where my next check was coming from. After a few months, I was able to build a "buffer" in my savings account that allowed me to have a few months income just sitting around in case I needed it. A few months after that, my buffer grew quite a bit more, and so on. Be smart with your money, and make sure you always have enough in the bank to sustain your rough times... they will come. |

Yeah, I saved up a lot before I made the switch. And thank god I did or else I'd be back in a cubicle now. The two biggest mindmelts were: - Not having a set schedule, set time, set place to be, set itinerary. The first 3-6 months I floundered around a lot and was not efficient with my time at all. - Not having that guaranteed paycheck. One month I could make $5,000 and the next barely $1,000. It does mess with you, but like the other poster said, if you always keep a buffer, you eventually get used to it. Time management and money management. Both key. |
