I think traffic should also lead to the listbuilding funnel. Sometimes readers may get distracted by your site content and may not notice the opt in form. It is safer to direct them to the optin and when they are on your list' you redirect them to the website

For me, "keyword research" has nothing to do with "content marketing" at all. (I'm an article marketer, and article marketing isn't connected with SEO at all.)

I see that it would, if you were trying to make a living from search engine traffic, though, of course.

I'm an affiliate marketer, myself, so that wouldn't work for me: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post8659398

The simple solution to that is to make sure that the opt-in form, and its prominent incentivization, are above the fold of the page on which they land. (And if you're doing content marketing, as Alesh proposes, to generate your traffic, that's very easily done.)

I don't agree with this at all. I've split-tested it for six-month periods in four entirely separate niches, and I found this not to be so, all four times: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post9391711

Traffic attracted by content marketing comprises people who want to see content. Not people who want to see a squeeze page. (We didn't need to be Einstein, perhaps, to guess this? Like almost everything else connected with list-building, it's about continuity. http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6123982 ).

      Just my perspective.

In my opinion this is a 2 way thing. Alesh's method is using a website to get lead via optin and the other way is a "list builder's method" which set up a optin. Once somebody subscribes then the list builder introduces his/her website. The advantage of being a list builder is that he can make a list w/o a website and double or triple it by a free method w/c is unaffected by Google's algorithm.

This is one of many ways.

If you're a blogger this is one way you can make money, and it's advisable to follow this road, because building a list willbring you a lot of money as it's traffic on demand.

That being said, there are many other things that come with building up a blog, this is just one roadmap for you to follow, one of many.

Can definitely get away with doing well using that diagram (depending on what you plan to do exactly)

I would recommend having a few other sections in there...

    But you gotta start somewhere
