What's the bravest marketing idea you've ever had/heard of?

hey,

They say good advertising is different. It stands out.

I am wondering...

What's the best / bravest / most memorable marketing idea you've ever seen?

(or had.)

Thanks!

There is a guy who sells bulletproof fiberglass board for court rooms and such. To demo the product he will stand behind it and let people shoot a whole mag into it to show he would not be hurt.

Or the guy who created a new kind of lightweight bulletproof vest and allows himself to be shot at close range as a demo. Pretty brave lol.

I just shared that on our business page, saying we're confident in our service, but thankfully don't have to go to that length to prove it!

Bravery is unnecessary in good marketing.

As for the statement of good advertising being different...meh. Good advertising is measured by results. Whether being different is good or bad is best left to testing.

Finally, that guy getting shot is not an example bravery. He's selling bullet proof vests. He should have 100% confidence in his product or he shouldn't be selling it. It doesn't take bravery if the outcome is certain. It was merely a demonstration. Which is good. But it still could have been better if they showed the actual impact in slow motion and the spent round lodged in the vest immediately after he stood up.

Door-to-door selling was and still is one of the bravest forms of marketing in my opinion.
