Hostgator Problem Solved in Double Quick Time, Guess How

I had a problem today with some of my sites.

Seems all the ones which used a MySQL had the database deleted or moved or something.

I had a 2 plan strategy.

1) Sent an email to support@hostgator.com

2) PM a trusted warrior to ask if they had any ideas.

By the time I hit send on the PM, hostgator had solved the problem and I got an email.

The trusted warrior came back to say he couldn't see a problem which is true, it has gone away.

Always send an email to their support, it is fastest way to get a response.

Send a PM to the same trusted warrior who obviously has a lot more clout than he is letting on.

  • And I thought you were going to say moved to a better host. It's okay because I use HostGAtor too.... for some things so I can state my opinion. I don't think they are horrible I just don't think they are all that.

Host Gator also has live 24/7 support through chat on their website. They have helped me on numerous occasions when I screwed up one of my sites pretty bad. HG has some of the best customer support I've ever seen...A+

    Hi Bev,

I have been trying to access my sites and often, there is
    this message "database error"

This happens at different parts of the day for the past 3 days.

When I use their live chat, I told them about it and by then,
    it was solved...

    Hmmm...are they doing some upgrading?

    Cheers,
    John

    Hi John,

mysql is simply getting too many connections which result in that error. A simple restart of the mysql server restores it back but that's not a definite fix. They either have too many accounts on the server or they have a client using a script that's using too much of the server's resources.

    Hi Bev,

I have helped many clients with their websites, blogs and scripts and found Hostgator support to be very good.

I had contacted Hostgator support through Live chat and Tickets system on quite a few occassions. They are up 24/7. They are simply amazing with support. They have never taken more than 30 min(worst case that is) to any of my ticket.

I was actually going to start a thread in "Hostgator's forum" on how good their support is and to let them know that people like me appreciate it a lot.

I will may be post that in a while now
