Membership Site Scripts..

Anyone recommend a very simple membership site script that doesn't cost an arm & a leg?

Or, as an alternative, perhaps a way to set up a pay-to-view type forum or WP site?

Don't know if I'm making much sense here, but I'd like some simple "pay to recieve" type of system.

    There are many different scripts, some are better than others, I personally own about all of them that are not over say $250 I have tried out many, and I found one to be more friendly than the others, check out my sig, you will find a link to that site,

    aMember is supposed to be good and cheap... but I haven't actually used it. I use a hosted version of Fantasos, which costs me $27 per month. It is very good, and is an all in 1 solution (also does shopping cart, and affiliate management)

    Amember is the most cost effect one, and you can use it with wordpress, drupal, vbulletin and a lot of other content management systems. David-JP's membership academy is a great site too, I've learned a lot of good stuff there.

    wishlist member looks good. You also might look into the "autoresponder-based" methods like Micro continuity or Membernaire. You set it up in your autoresponder and the autoresponder takes care of the rest....Might not work in all niche's but it is worth looking at.

    Pete, you should search on "Membership plug-in" here on the forum and you'll find many threads discussing needs that appear to fit yours (WordPress plug-ins). I recommend WishList Member with SimplePressForum, but if you're talking about a simple deployment there's several others that might work. However, if you'll need serious scalability in the future then that's a whole different set of threads
