How do you cure shiny object syndrome?

I know a lot of people are suffering from the shiny object syndrome, but I'm wondering about the reason WHY they actually buy product after product. I know they claim that many wso's are crappy, rehashed etc, but I know there are also many wso's out there that do work. So, how do you explain it? You think they just dont follow trough enough? They give uo easily? Is it just the newbies that have shiny object syndrome? Are there really so many aweful wso's?
What's your take on it? Also, once you have it, how do you cure yourself from it? When your bank account is empty?
