Quality Not Quantity Is The Right Approach For Article Marketing

I remember a while back I read a report I found free online about how to make 100.00 a day using article marketing. I was really excited to put the plan into action because it seemed like it would work.

The only problem was that it suggested you submit 30 articles a day to the directories to try and saturate your niche. It promised if you did this over the course of a month you were gauranteed to make 100 a day after that.

I knew that this was the wrong approach. If I was going to submit that many articles in one day there are several roadblocks the free ebook failed to mention. Like not having platinum status on eza or having to many of them going live at once.

I found that it is much better to do proper keyword research and spend some time trying to rank for fewer articles then a whole bunch. The purpose should be to get the views to your articles which will lead to traffic. If I just mass submitted articles I would not have the time to build up their ranking.

A much better way would have been to just do a few that are optimised for a good keyword and try to rank for those articles. Which one do you think would be better. 30 articles a day with 50-75 views each. Or one article with 1000 views? Of course the 30 seems better, but if they are all on bad keywords you can see even fewer views. The book I read sounded good in theory, but that is all it seemed to me was theory. I am sure you might make a little bit. But I would think that most people would not achieve the 100.00 a day doing this. What do you think?

Adding original content in many places online all pointing back to your site is going to create a web effect pointing to your website and increase it's rank in search engines.

Making sure this content is good quality and unique is certainly going to help.

what easy cash said - yes, if they articles are sufficiently different. Re OP - the first choice is more robust, the second one has more of a chance of making a 'name' for you.

Quality is better if you are trying to get traffic from the article. Of course, you have to do the proper keyword research and you also have to take the pains to write it for the purpose you have in mind - to get the click through to your squeeze page, affiliate site or webpage or whatever you have in mind. You will get more traffic if you craft your article properly.

However, many people also use articles as a source of backlinks. In this case quantity is more important than quality (assuming you have to sacrifice one for the other). You're not really trying to get traffic from these articles (but if you do it is a bonus).

I see many threads debating this and I think it really just comes down to your particular strategy. I use both quality and quantity myself!

Building backlinks is good of course. But some of the directories are just not really worth submitting to even for backlinks. Besides from the top 5 or seven the others are just not worth your time. Also if I were trying to get backlinks I would submit to other places other then the article directories. I would not want a bunch of fluff out there with my name on it. I would want to actually offer value to the readers. Depending on what phrase you were trying to rank for you may need to build hundreds of backlinks to see any serp traffic so if I did it this way it had better be a really good key phrase.
