I set up an incredible system. Your thoughts?

Hi. I have been following this forum now for 3 years, though not posting much... until now...

I have been so busy creating an incredible system.

The outline of my sytem:

- with this system I have access to at least 10.000 sellers

- I have access to over 10 Million products ranging from Iphones to Make-up, brands, clothing, tools, garden accessoires, watches, jewellery, electronics, android phones, mobile accessoires such as covers, bluetooth headsets, sunglasses etc.

- there is basically no product out there that I could not get hold of... just ask me
and also at competitive prices !

- I can import 3000-5000 products per batch in my Wordpress Woocommerce store

- if I create 5-10 batches that means somewhere between 20k - 50k products

- I get product descriptions, images, specific features and the best of all....

.... with my system....
.... the stock of my imported products is ALWAYS syncronized with the stock that the seller holds....

almost in realtime ! I can set up the product stock synchronization to run every hour if i want (although every 24 hours is quite enough....)

all products can be dropshipped (depends on the location of the seller) to US, UK, EU

Now that i have developed this and set this up...

WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH SUCH A SYSTEM ???

Summary: I can build a Wordpress Woocommerce store with 50k products of every imaginable kind (e.g. lawnmovers, Torx screwdrivers and corsets if i like and keep the product stock in sync with the dropshippers !

but.... now.. what ? ...( i know, this might seem a dumb question, i should have thought about this before starting, but the technology was so tempting for me, i had to try out if i can set up such thing, and now that i am finished... i was thinking. what now? )
ideas welcome !

To start earning some money from it, you need access to buyers, not just to sellers.

Very nice; but do you also have access to some customers?

Well, call me just another boring "marketer", but I like to do things the other way round from you.

I wish you good luck with your system, but I prefer to start by identifying the market, finding out what people want to buy, and then find a way to sell it to them, rather than starting off with millions of products and no customers.

Well one thing comes to mind, set up a few sites and flip the sites with your software! If you do let me know how much you're selling I maybe interested.

I tried NOT to respond but I couldn't help myself.

You are scratching where people are not itching. Most people only want one thing. That is what you should supply to them. The one thing that they want now!.

Nevertheless I wish you well as you have been here so long.

      s.kim,

You have started with the easy part of marketing - the supply side.

Now you are left with the tough part - the demand side - finding out what buyers are looking for - exactly.

Your vehicle, the selling system, may in fact be incredible. I suggest you begin selling as quickly as possible so you can test it out.

But how do you know what you want to sell? To whom are you going to be selling? How are you going to talk to them? Where are you going to find them? Who else in your market is a competitor? What are you going to charge? What is your product mix?

All these questions should be answered up front. Your selling system is only as good as the hot prospects you run through it.

That's a pretty nifty feature. So do you have a store built yet?

Frankly I don't see anything too unique about it. There are autoposter wordpress plugins that can pull thousands of products and update stock and prices in real time.

My question is why did you build such a system? I'm sure you want to make money off it? Didn't you have a marketing plan in place before building the system?

Google isn't going to send you a lot of traffic, thanks to latest algo updates, so having thousands of products alone isn't really going to pull in traffic. I think you should focus on getting traffic from paid sources now. Advertise on FB and start pulling in traffic. You can also try some offline advertising.

What you have is a system that has already been in use for a long time, nothing unique. And this kind of system will get your site into trouble with Google unless you can write thousands of unique product descriptions.

What you need to do is sit down, do some market research, and focus on one particular niche. Then build your ecommerce site with unique product descriptions and start SEOing your site for your target keywords instead of autoposting thousands of products and essentially trying to compete with beasts like Amazon and BestBuy which is exactly what you are about to do whether knowingly or unknowingly.

hi, thanks for all your response so far..

what i have noticed.... most of you think very about "affiliate marketing" and find "niches"....
of course, with my system i can choose randomly products without being specific, but i could as well make a store (for example very focussed) with

    - Breaking Bad T-shirts, phone covers and Breaking Bad posters
    - Torx screwdriver sets, Torx bit accessoires etc.

... just to name 2 examples.

Also, what is different from this system in difference to any amazon affiliate store:

    1. it is a store not an affiliate blog. I has a functioning checkout system etc. That means that for the buyers, I would be the seller not amazon or any other affiliate website.

    Why is this important ?
    One Example:

If i sell as an amazon affiliate a iphone connector for e.g. 6.99 $
what do you think how much i could get ? 6.99 x 4% commission = 0,27 cents !!!! is this worth it ?

on the other hand, in my store i could sell the same item for 9.99 $ with a mark-up of 3$ !
(and to be honest, most customers dont even compare prices in this low range...)

And of course, as i said before, with my system i would never have stock that i am selling that is actually out of stock by my dropshipper...

    2. as a store i could use adwords to advertise it. as you know google does not allow affiliate stores to use adwords. but my store is NOT an affiliate store. Its my own.

Basically, i think it is more a dropshipping system than an affiliate system...

still, i value any feedback and it is interesting to read your thoughts on it....

    thanks for that!

This is not my area of expertise, so I can't really critique the finer details.

It sounds like you enjoy the product creation part, but not so much the sales.

But if what you are saying is true, then maybe your product is not the items being sold, but turnkey dropship websites you can sell on Flippa (or here, or ebay, or whatever).

My hunch is that there would be greater demand for dropshipping product sites than affiliate sites, and therefore greater value. Of course, if you did this, it would require disclosing your dropship sources. I don't know if that is something you are willing to do.

The other option along those lines is to create the stores yourself, then recruit affiliates to do the marketing. In a sense, you are becoming a new Amazon.

Unfortunately, I think the only way either of these scenarios succeeds is if you are able to compete with Amazon on price.

Then again, like I said, I am no expert. In fact, I barely pay attention to such things.

    I wish you luck.

Wpzonbuilder does this . Not that incredible, still good to show your technical knowledge.
Better off on freelancer.com to offer this service.

I agree with prior Warriors comments. How will the customer "find you"? With so many products/niches you should consider drilling down to something more unique and targeted. Customers can then find you and you have a chance for leads and sales.

You could offer this as a turnkey system to newby online marketers, a done-for-you- service with all suppliers in place and drop shipping arranged - rent out your sites on a monthly fee sold from a sales page announcing "Attention Potential Online Shop Owners" -how would you like to run your own online store with everything already set up - all you have to do is drive targeted traffic to your store and you are in business - this kind of a service would be attractive to newbies who want to by-pass the learning curve.
This seems to be the logical direction for your system. An idea,

well, not really. I was just coding alone for some time in my little room, and i thought, maybe there are some possibilities with this system that i might have missed....

of course, i see that i might just sell a "done for you ready-made dropship website..."

will definetely give a thought on this one!
