How Do You Create a Successful Product Launch?

I recently created a product I think is very niche-oriented. There's nothing out there quite like it and especially the way I sell it on my site. Instead of the traditional one column sites, mine looks very upscale and I think it fits my market really well.

Not to say one column sites are bad. I actually love them... Just not for this project.

I think I have something really golden here. How do I have a successful product launch? How do I get the word out?

You market to your prospect in sequences. The pre-pre-launch, the pre-launch, the launch, the post launch. Think about the old fashioned salesletter; it's got a headline on the top.. and you count on them to read on to the order button; you will have more success if your prospects trust your opinion, right?

The launch way: Turn the salesletter on its side over time. The squeeze page (or optin point) is the headline in your salesletter. Early in the launch (pre-launch), you start introducing your prospects to things that would otherwise be early in the salesletter (testimonials, benefits, etc...). The only difference is that you actually take them through the salesletter over time by sending them pre-launch "content" (which is actually compelling sales material).

The whole goal is to sell somebody before they even hit your sales page. You want them to scroll straight to the "order" button.

One person at a time. One customer at a time. Negotiating a Joint Venture partner (who has your target markets trust and email addresses) to endorse you.

That's more GREAT advice. I thought about a JV, but I'm confused about exactly how to go about pursuing them. Do I just email sites in interested in working with and do I offer them a percentage split? If so how much and how do I handle payment? Should I do it through an affiliate program or would that turn them off and make them feel like I'm just trying to "recruit affiliates?"

Instead of trying to "recruit" JV's... become friends with them first. Business comes later.
