First of all, competition is a good thing when it comes to selling information online, because:
    1. a lot of competition means a big market
    2. your competition could become your affiliates and vice-versa later on

As for the niche: pick something you like.

If you want to build a website about 'making money online' but have no clue what to do yet exactly, you could start out by blogging about your experiences so far, what have you read/learned etc.

Or you could pick a topic that's really popular right now. Check out which threads have a lot of views and replies here, you might get some ideas there.

The best way to narrow it down would be to focus on a particular platform for making money online for example

    Making money with Facebook

    Making money with YouTube

Making money with e-mail list building

If you were to focus on one particular platform and learned every method going for that platform then that would be a narrow niche that you could focus on being the authority on.

All think of the most successful methods you've used in the past and teach people that particular method because in general most methods are particularly narrow.

But my number-one piece of advice would be to just start building your website and stop worrying about what direction to take because the more you start adding content to the site the more the site will naturally evolve in a way that suits you best.

another way to narrow it down is based on
the interest or profession of your audience

    for example:

    making money online for accountants
    making money online for doctors

    and so on...

use different angles to target a certain niche

be decisive and decide on this first so that your
message will be the same across all your marketing
    platforms (blog, fb, twitter, ig)

You can narrow it down by target group.

    Activity:
    Make money online

    Target:
    Stay at home moms
    Currently Unemployed
    College Students
    .. etc..

Don't worry about the competition. Do you think they are worrying about you? Just dispense quality unique information and the money will follow. Try to get as specific about your niche as possible. Good Luck.
p.s. About not wanting to waste another month....it isn't a waste if you have learned something...it is a stepping stone.

Would you want to learn how to make money online, from someone who hasn't made money online himself?

Start with a passion, think about what value you can give your audience.

Look at other MMO blogs and see what they are doing. Do it better.

I prefer to focus on popular products rather than niches. Preferably products with high commissions ($100+). Simply give people what they are looking for and you will make money.

First off. Pause, relax and take a deep breath. I can feel your vibe through your post. You're in a hurry and you need some quick advice on how to make some fast money. But wait!

Don't allow your desperation to tempt you to make bad decisions. If you need quick money there's a lot more ways to get it than in the "make money online niche" as you put it. Like collecting aluminum cans, cardboard or donating blood. I can almost guarantee you'll have cash in your hand quicker.

But if you want to do this right, without bouncing from one thing to the next like most people in your position ...

      1. Sit down in a quiet place with pen and paper.
      2. Write down what you know about or what you'd do even if you didn't get paid for a year (which is more the norm than you think).
      3. Next research that and see if people are paying for any products or services in that subject. If not, choose a second, or third choice ,etc.
      4. Next, follow the advice you're receiving in this thread, the advice that resonates with you the most, according to 2 and 3.

That's the best foundation to start on. It may seem a little slower than the way you want (or need) to go now. But it will keep you moving forward instead of in circles like you're destined to go now. In the meantime, you may have to get a job depending on your situation.

Hope you can swallow this medicine and not spit it out or ignore it, it's good for you!

    Why?

Do you have experience building websites or have you made any money online?

You can't teach someone something you don't know.

Possibly a better route might be to promote someone else's product who actually knows how to make money online and can teach others.

I don't understand why so many people think they can start at the top without putting in any work or paying any dues. ???
