His family have suddenly become very concerned that they are not involved in his activities.

His promotion company is definitely concerned about whether they have enough insurance cover.

His creditors are more than a little concerned about their security.

Many fans have already asked for refunds on their tickets.

News syndicates are competing with each other for any 'unique', scandalous' or 'juicy' tit-bit of information.

Music stores are stocking up as fast as they can to meet the demand.

Just for starters, these are some of the people monetising his death.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.
Build it, make money, then build some more
Some old school smarts would help - and here's to Rob Toth for his help. Bloody good stuff, even the freebies!

I couldnt...they would offend anyone who loved MJ...and there were a lot of people who loved him who are really suffering right now.

Too true! Humans are like that. Get all agitated for a while, then settle back into regular everyday life. I'm just chuckling, watching all the MJ Tweets, etc. Some people, you'd swear he was a fanily member or something. I mean, I liked Thriller (one of the first ever music videos I watched), but he was still just another musician. Yes, he had talent and was innovative, but so are many others.

I think there will be an increase in MJ products but soon with everything old news is replaced by new news..

Just take the example, of the "Susan Boyle" effect which happened in April and now
it has died down..
OMG you compare Susan Boyle with Michael Jackson?! Try comparing him to Elvis, and then you might have some idea of how long it will be before things go quiet

"MJ's death was faked to escape the media etc...."
"MJ is on the same bus as Elvis!"

I was a teenager when michael started becoming big time..I can still remember how popular thriller was or Billy Jean. When BAD was released, me and my classmates became "BAD" too..

But I admit, when he started having "legal" issues I began to lose enthusiasm.

Although yesterday things changed, reading and watching news about his death made me remember some good memories about my past. How me and my friends enjoyed his songs and from time to time imitate how he danced..How he influenced us in the past.

Clearly, he did made a good contribution, not only in the music industry but also in the lives of people around the world.

Do you know that here in the Philippines, in a correctional facility in CEBU prisoners dance as a group..Yes, as part of the prisoners rehabilitation, they teach them to dance (look for video in youtube).

Now you ask what's it got to do with MJ..Nothing really, except that the first Major Group Dance they did was played with THRILLER.

Also a few years back, when he visited manila, he visited a fan (that's literal). He came and visited a fan in a hospital here.

So in my own little way, I'm saluting the guy.

Every time something like this happens I ask myself this question: "Why didn't you predict this?!" Or at least - why couldn't I have something ready there waiting for the time when MJ or someone like him make the news (not necessarily death) and heat up search engines.

As far as the moral aspect of monetizing someone's death - I have mixed feelings. I do wish I could always be in a WIN-WIN situation, but it isn't always possible. Every time I do SEO I hope my competition get's knocked down. It isn't death though. I don't know.

There are some artists I will not feel bed making money on once they die. I won't even feel sorry when they do, but that's a different story.
